BTW, if Preds doesn't have your e-mail, can you get it to him, so he can do the random draft!

I'd like them all posted here in this thread if possible... I don't want to go searching for em. Thanks.

Also, adjusted the poll. Forgot his way. No way was I going to type that whole thing in there....

Re: Rookie Draft

So is the draft order based on the random drawing, or does the random drawing determine who gets to select their spot first?

burtpaulson2002@yahoo.com

The Immortal Ramirez April 21st, 2005 02:35 PM

Re: Rookie Draft

from my understanding the random drawing is to allow that owner where they want to draw. The first person drawn may not see the value of #1 pick (the fool) and choose to go elsewhere....

Yah, I should have read the final few posting in the original thread.

BTW, the first couple picks are no-brainers, it's the mid-picks where things could start changing and be advatageous to take a lower pick. It all depends on which method we choose.

So stating that, we should wait on making the random drawing until this vote is finalized, which from the looks of the first 3 votes, may take a few tries (don't say it Preds.....)

I honestly don't care but after all the time I am going with my convulted draft order.

Re: Rookie Draft

Why do we have 6 email addy's but only 5 votes. Who has skipped their vote? (don't make me check out the Admin Panel dang you!)

Nittany Dodgers April 21st, 2005 03:02 PM

Re: Rookie Draft

I voted. So far it is 0-1-2-2. The cluster is on!

The Immortal Ramirez April 21st, 2005 03:05 PM

Re: Rookie Draft

there are six votes, but actually I hadn't voted yet. Being the one who set the poll, I didn't want to vote immediately.

Re: Rookie Draft

If this ends in a draw can we kill the rookie draft concept and just throw them into the vet auction? ;)

Re: Rookie Draft

jackb@sympatico.ca

I have voted 1-12 and then 12-1 every round after. I am also fine with Matt's solution (thinking it over don't know that we have to go such extremes as Matt's since the declining $$ for each successive pick will also have a bit of an evening effect).

There are 6 votes now because Keepers was the last in... (still need the email addy posted). State your mind Rami.

No. I'll come up with a 5th alternative, and we can revote. We'll each get two votes to vote for our top two proposals we are in favor of, and one negative vote which we can use to take a vote away from the alternative we like the least. If it is still tied, the votes will remain the same, but we'll change our second affirmitive vote to only count as a half vote. Also, the negative votes cast will not count as a full negative vote, they will count as pi/100. That should eliminate all ties.

Start with post # 77 on page 4 of this thread http://predsff.com/forums/showthread...0019#post30019 and work your way down, though post 77 is a good rough idea of his concept.

Matt's:

After looking at Brian’s post I updated the Excel sheet to show the right values. In this case the average per team is 4313 and here are the individual values (assuming Team 1 has pick 1.1 and Team 12 has pick 1.12) which are shockingly well distributed around that average:
