I personally think that people can name their own teams with only limits being common sense and nothing inappropriate.

Themes would be fun, but I don't want to think that much (I really try to avoid it). Most people do choose location then associated name, etc.

I think I misvoted here. By theme to we mean we all follow the same naming convention or a theme like old TV shows. I would prefer everyone picks their own name but that it be city/location and team name. If you can change my vote (not that it matters since name your own seems to have won in a landslide here).
