I think it depends how big the DS and Taxi Squads get. I would recommend that rather than just the last round being Taxi eleigible (or is it DS now) that anything after the third round is eligilbe. I would also think that 6 rounds is probably enough for the combination of both offensive and defensive players.

We also need to discuss as part of this that the curve for rookie salaries will need to be modified. We are doubling the talent pool, so we need to streatch out the curve for each position.

Yes, Skippy. But, we need to determine IDP rookie salaries...I did so many, I can't remember if that's a different thread or not. I think it should be different because this should just discuss the number of rounds. salaries are for another thread :)

But remember with the addition of defensive players, the 4th rounders will be more talented than the current Frenzy 4th rounders. I'd go with adding 2 rounds, and the 5th and 6th be Practice squad elligible, and be able to add 2 per year.

The adding per year only applies to the Practice Squad, and is a check on the fact there is no cap on contract years for the Practice Squad. It prevents late round hoarding and players taking a bunch of fliers on RBs, hoping just one makes an impact. That's the purpose anyway.

There is also a limit on the # of players on the Practice Squad. This per year just limits how many new players you can place on it each year.

OK, for the record, the current frenzy Practice Squad is 3 players. You can add one player per year, and that player has to be a 4th round rookie draft selection.

My proposal for the new league would be a Practice Squad of 6 players, a rookie draft of 6 rounds, and you can add 2 players to the Practice squad each year, with the requirement they are 5th or 6th rounders. Obviously, at some point the Practice squad fills up and you need to cut players, or don't have room for new ones. Capice?
