your cut wasn't in time Matt.

The Bills are a FA again and you can't bid on them for 30 days

Re: Def Buffalo - SOLD for 125 to the Freedom (Leniency Please- rules say BID FAILED)

Is there no leniency policy here? I clearly misunderstood how this would work in a weekend situation. My understanding was that bids that were made on Saturday could not close until like Tuesday. I thought that same logic applied to bids that closed on Saturday (ie. I had until Tuesday to make my declarations).

I had no intention of skirting any rules but was busy with life over the weekend and did not have a chance (or think I had a need) to check into the site (or the internet in general) until Sunday night.

No one has since bid on them and I know I have advocated leniency for others. Is there any chance of that here?

Pretty please!!

You're bid was made on FRIDAY not Saturday, and it CLOSED Saturday morning. You had to make room by Sunday morning.

I haven't granted leniancy in other similar cases, so I can't see why I would here. The Insects lost Moulds on a similar infraction.

Even with Frank's proposal (to allow until Saturday eveing) you'd be in violation.

Re: Def Buffalo - SOLD for 125 to the Freedom (FAILED TO MAKE ROOM - RELEASED BACK TO FA)

I understand when my bid was made. By making it Friday I knew it could not close until at the earliest Saturday. I misunderstood how this works on the weekend. I was under the impression (clearly incorrect now that I have re-read the rules) that I had until Tuesday to make the declarations (so in my mind I was actually quite early).

If you and the rest of the league can't grant leniancy here that is fine but I had every intention of making the cuts (part of why I checked in last night) within what I thought was the time frame. In the case with Moulds, Frank admittedly forgot (or it slipped his mind).

PS- If leniancy is not granted (and I sincerely hope it is) what happens to the cuts that I made? Are those players restored or are they lost?

I'd be more willing to allow you to rescind the cuts than to grant leniency on picking up the D, you clearly missed the deadline to make room. The 24 hour rule has been a hard and fast rule for 2 years now (and a good one IMO). If you recall, we used to require a cut UPFRONT... allowing the 24 hour window to make roster space or clear cap space is quite lenient IMO.

All that being said... Joe got caught in a similar mixup earlier in the week with the GB Defense (it turns out he was OK since he never listed his Hanson cut elsewhere), you actually posted the cuts, so it may be a bit different.

I lean towards allowing you to rescind the 2 drops, but to be fair to the others in the league, I'll have to discuss this with the Rules Committe (Jake & Brian). We'll get back to you on it.

Re: Def Buffalo - SOLD for 125 to the Freedom (FAILED TO MAKE ROOM - RELEASED BACK TO FA)

Matt, I heard from Brian and he's on the same page as I am. I haven't heard from Jake yet, but I believe he's out of town, thus I'm issuing the decision without his input.

Since you made these cuts under the impression you had picked up the Bills D we've decided to allow the retractions.

This step wasn't taken lightly, and allowing the retractions does not ensure that future retractions by you or others will be allowed... but in this case we felt it was a fair thing to do, and other similar cases will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Good job guys. I agree with this ruling.

Now can we get a ruling about the pics for Brian "dirty socks"?

LOL, I actually feel sympathy for Brian!

I mean, I'll send him a pair of dirty socks if I have to (hell he's the one who opened his mouth and made the statement)... but it almost seems too cruel a punishment LOL!

I think I'll let the league rule on whether or not we actually hold Brian up to the task!

How about Mike sends a pair of dirty socks, and Brian has to keep them in his mouth for a round of photos... to be displayed proudly on this site!

Can I still deep fry them and slather them in Buffalo hot sauce, and insert a famous Buffalo hot dog product provided by Mike as I intended to? :bow
