Guys, I just sent Mike a message explaining... an emergency at work kept me from submitting last night. In fact I haven't slept in 2 days now. I was faced with either handling my Company or the Frenzy... and it didn't really leave me with much of a choice. My apologies to all of you.

I'll post the changes I would have made, but I too throw myself at the league's mercy and will accept any penalties without argument... I guess the 1st pick in 2005 may be waiting for me again.

Hey Jake, we all understand that there are more important things in life than FF. Sometimes things come up. Personally I do think this is a huge deal, maybe a slap on the wrist for first time offenders but 2nd time we get harsher. I'll go with whatever the league decides.

I agree with the others above.

We should probably clarify this in the rules for next year.,

Perhaps assess penalties for failure to declare timely in 24 hour windows with say a 250b penalty and loss of 2 contract years for the 1st day late, and an additional 50 cb's and 1 contract year for each additional day or something.

I don't want to see any team crippled by penalties, but at the same time I don't want to leave a loophole for teams to be able to delay posting years and whatnot for strategical purposes.

In this case, I think Jake should get a minor cap penalty (say half the standard 500cb roster penalty), but nothing else.

I certainly understand and agree that real life comes before FF.

You know me, guys... I'm always up for grace! Some minor penalty should be fine this time.

However (here comes the voice of my mother), we've had all summer long to make these changes... so the lesson of the day is, submit roster changes early & often!!! lol

Throw him and his team to the lions! People are begining to take advantage of the leniency shown around here. Rules are rules and I think we need to start enforcing those more to the letter of the law. Enough of this "let's cut him some slack for the first time offense" crap. If the rules say his players get thrown back to the pool if he doesn't declare in time, then that's what I think we should do. If the rules don't state that, then I think they should.

That, or just the 250cb penalty would be fine with me.
