The OPIHI welcome an "up and coming" WR into our receiving corps. Givens is arguably the new #1 WR in New England (see http://www.ourlads.com/secure/depthchart.cfm?index1=NE )... and although it's an understatement to say that the Patriots like to spread the ball around, we'll gladly take our chances on this guy, who now has a salary under 200 cbs, and can be locked into a long-term contract!

I know it's arguable... Givens came on along the 2nd half of the year... needless to say the final stats for the season are as follows:


Branch - 57 receptions, 803 yards, 3 TDs...
Givens - 34 receptions, 510 yards, 6 TDs...

To me, it looks like Givens is the WR they look to in the red zone (granted, when they're not throwing to a TE)... that's why I was eager to have him on my team. He gets to battle Ike Hilliard, Marcus Robinson & Rod Gardner for my #3 WR spot. For 195 cbs, I like that!

Thought I'd turn the attention away from that Gates guy... granted, there have been injuries in NE, but hey, Givens is playing very well right now for NE!
