Pred's Fantasy Football Forums - FRENZY NEWS: Tomlinson ready to test Frenzy's RFA waters

Frenzy Bowl III MVP RB LaDainian Tomlinson has his swim trunks on and is ready to dive in head-first into the Frenzy's RFA waters just a short 37 or so hours from now. The bidding on LT2 (as his fans often refer to him) is expected to be intense, with 9 out of 10 Frenzy GM's anticipating Tomlinson to be the leagues highest paid RFA when all is said and done.

Whether or not the Predators as an organization will be able to afford keeping him will depend on just how high the bidding goes. The team made some prudent moves last October that freed up a large amount of cap space last season, so there does appear to be room to retain Tomlinson, however with other key RFA's such as Hines Ward and Derrick Mason in the teams plans the cap could close up on them quick.

It is unknown at this time as to who the team will target if they are unable to retain their star player, however, with the plethora of stud RB's on the market they appear confident that they will be able to keep Tomlinson at a reasonable price. Other RFA’s on the market include Ricky Williams, Ahman Green, Shaun Alexander and Edgerrin James. Additionally, Marshall Faulk is sitting out there as an UFA, and is another RB that will be considered by the Frenzy teams.

Further rumors around team headquarters also seem to indicate that they are not settled on Jeff Garcia and Brad Johnson as their starting QB rotation, and rumbling in the building indicate the team has a keen interest in RFA's Donovan McNabb and Chad Pennington. Whispers in the corridors indicate that the team is shopping Garcia and his reasonable 985cb 1 year contract with the hopes of aggressively pursuing McNabb, Pennington, or possibly even Steve McNair.
