I really dont like our IR rules

Just wanted to throw that out there. I really think we should consider changing it to only allow owners to put a player on IR if and only if they are put on IR by the NFL team.

...or if you place someone on IR, the minimum should be for like 4 weeks instead of 1.

...or maybe there should be just one spot per team

This constant rotation of IR players seems pretty ridiculous.

It used to be min of 4 weeks. I've never been a fan of the 1 week min (Out or IR designation only). I'd like to go back to that or 3 weeks liked SACD (previouly 4 weeks). SACD allows Questionable, Doubtful, Out and IR designations.

Can we mark this somehow to remember to bring to a vote prior to next season? Or should we bring it up for a vote now and any change takes place in 2025?

We can vote mid-sesason, but it take a unanimous decision to put into immediate effect. I'd say if we want to go with the rule taking effect next season, then the 10 of 12 voting rules can be in effect.

I'd actually be open to expanding the two IR spots. Seem to be more long-term injuries this year.

With the addition of bye weeks, it can really hamper a team who has several players on bye, along with several players who are week-to-week (Daniels, Metcalf, etc.) - so I for one would hate to move back to mandatory 4 weeks. I like the one week rule, as it allows you to pick up a fill in player, without having to lose a star for 4 weeks, if they end up only being out for 1

I would vote against a return to the 4 week IR or any minimum period beyond 1 week. I think the current IR rules are fair to all and give teams enough flexibility to get a sub when a player is only going to be out a week or 2. I haven’t been looking at other teams IR, but I know I certainly haven’t abused it with all the injuries I had, though I do wish there were more slots.

I could see expanding the IR under the current rules as teams like mine were decimated with injuries and scrambling to field lineups. Thankfully my guys are getting healthy but I suffered a few losses due to being severely beat up at WR as well as injuries elsewhere.

I think a layered IR approach would be worth considering. Something like season ending IR for guys with season ending injuries (unlimited slots at 25% cap hit), long term IR for guys out multiple weeks (2 slots with a 4 week minimum stay* at 50% cap hit) , and short term IR for guys only expected to be out one or a couple weeks (2 slots with a 1 week minimum stay* at 50% cap hit).

* short term IR must be reactivated within the first week after they no longer have an OUT designation and have met the minimum IR stay requirement

I like the idea of short-term and long-term IR designations.
