I have triple-checked my math here. I had one contract year under the cap, and I just cut 2 players that each had one year left on their contracts. That should give me 3 years available to add to the 2 Collins has on his current contract, which should put me right at the 65 contract year cap.

If I am wrong on the math, they I would like to just do 4 years for Nico, but if that’s not allowed, I will just have to make another cut.

Most teams wait until after the season (prior to season rollover). Something to consider especially if you want to add more years by cutting potential dead weight or players with bad contracts. Only thing is at the point in the season it's during soft cap period where half of penalty is applied to this season and the other half to the next.

I had just figured I would do it now because I have the cap room, but if it makes more sense to wait, that’s ok with me.
