Rules state the following for placing players on your Practice Squad:
 Player was acquired through a trade with the original drafting team AND the player was on the trading partners Practice Squad at the time of the trade. Player must meet all other Practice Squad requirements.

So looks like he can indeed go to Roosters PS.

he will roll to active this Saturday though, from the new year timeline. he was drafted in 2020.
Sat., May 4th at 12:00am - Hard Cap Period Begins, Contracts roll over and 4th year Taxi Squad members rollover to Active Squad and new MFL Site is created.

2024 will be his 5th year then, so is still eligible to remain on the Practice Squad:
"Each team will be allowed a 5 player Practice Squad for players with 0-5 years of NFL experience. Players entering their 6th NFL season are NOT eligible for the Practice Squad "
