Something feels very wrong about the DSB bracket. Feels a lot like rewarding teams that are better and keeping the struggling teams at the bottom. Crazy that a 7-7 team that averaged over 10 points a game and beat me in all play by 32 games is higher than me in the draft.

Anti Tanking rule we voted for a few years back. If you have better idea, put it out there. Personally, I would prefer bottom 4 teams rather than all 6.

I agree that it seems a little unfair to the bottom ranked teams. The intent was to prevent tanking. After our first year, maybe we think it through and open again for discussion. Put out for a new vote to tweak just a bit. Burt's thoughts seem valid. The DSB Seeds 5 and 6 are probably still playoff relevant until the final week, so maybe a tweak to only include the bottom 4 would work better.

id be for bottom 4, and could expand playoffs to include the 5th and 6trh team.

If we expand the playoffs, we lose the bye weeks. It's an earned benefit for the top teams in the reg season... Would hate to lose the Bye..

ok, i was trying to include everyone in, 5th and 6th options would be they don't play any games, or play each other winner gets 5th pick loser 6th.

I think half the league in the playoffs already is plenty,IMO.

I would actually prefer that, just have the top 6 in the playoffs leave the bottom 6 for picks as they are.
The draft although can be important, is not as strong as doing good with your RFAs and FA pick ups.
case in point I've picked pretty high the last 5 or 6 years, and my teams still suck, LOL

I'm not complaining about the significant boost to my draft position (6-3) But I was in the playoff fight till the last week.

I agree that a change to only bottom 4 would be better. Can always have 5 & 6 play each other for option to swap spots if we want to keep everyone in play.

I think the seeding bracket is a great idea, just needs a bit of adjusting.

It was put in place to keep all teams active and not tuning out the last quarter of the season, with nothing to play for. We were having a few teams not submitting lineups because they were out of contention which also created unfair advantages.


Nothing is perfect, but this at least keeps us all involved all season.

A little late to this conversation but I have to be honest the bye is kind of meaningless in fantasy sports playoffs to me. I have "earned" it in some leagues (football/baseball) and then posted a great score during the bye week and following week had a bad week. I doubt is would be easy to do but for the bye team's it would be great if they could choose their score from the bye week or the first non bye week. Again doubt it would be practical but seems like that would truly reward the bye team(s).

Also, would be fine with the seeding playoff only including the bottom 4 teams each year going forward.
