The top 3 teams in the East Division each control their own destiny going into next weekends games, but only 2 of the 3 will make the playoffs!

If the Opihi lose to the Undead and the Predators defeat the Freedom, the Opihi will be left on the outside looking in since they'd be 8-6 and with the Predators at 9-5 and the Undead 10-4. In that case the Undead win the division and the Predators get the wild card.

Now if the Undead lose to the Opihi, and the Predators win, all 3 teams would be 9-5, with the Opihi taking the division based on their 5-1 division record and the Predators again taking the wildcard at 9-5 based on a 4-2 division record vs the 9-5 Undead's 3-3.

Basically, all 3 East Division teams control their own fate, but we all need to win to control it! ;)

The Predators do no better than the wild card, so they just need to win to get in while the Opihi and Undead battle it out for the division and (possible wildcard in the event the Predators lose).

Now if the Predators and Opihi both lose, and the Ragers win, the Predators would get in based on a 2-1 h2h record while the Ragers would be 1-1 and the Opihi 1-2.

Finally, if the Predators lose and the Opihi lose, but the Ragers also lose, the Opihi will get in over the Predators based on having a better division record.

For what it's worth, I cannot envision a scenario where the Ragers make it in.

Don't ask me to figure out the mess that is the Central division LOL.

My OPIHI are primed to grab hold of our future and RE-BURY the Undead next weekend... we haven't been posting the kind of crazy fantasy numbers that many other Frenzy teams have in recent weeks... and many say that the injury bug which has plagued our RBs will ultimately do us in. The Opihi say, "Nay!"

What's tragic, is that the Opihi would already be guaranteed a playoff birth, if it weren't for that 20-point penalty in the rulebook for failing to submit a lineup. (sigh) Amazing thinking that I could have won that match, even with two starters on a bye.

We've got basically one shot to get in, and we plan on taking full advantage of it. If we can't beat the Undead, we don't deserve to make the playoffs. Period.

Oh yeah, well we're primed to... do whatever it is that's appropriate to do to an Opihi... lay you out on a pu-pu platter? Slice you up like pineapple and pomegranate? The Undead will forego their usual diet of brains... this week we feast on tropical fruit!

Looks like the playoffs start a week early for you and I, Jim... it's one-and-done from here on out! Maybe the better man win!

FYI, an OPIHI is a small mollusk that clings to the rocks along the shoreline where the waves pound. Locals like to eat them, and they fetch quite a high price per pound (we're talking close to $50-$100/lb. in some cases, because you need so many of them to make a pound!). My nickname is kinda ironic, in some sense, in that no Opihi would be considered "royal"... but we do cling to things tenaciously, when others would give up & fall away!

So a pupu-platter might work... but you wouldn't slice it... you'd pop it in your mouth raw...

Actually, YOU won't be eating any Opihi this weekend, Mr. Undead... the Opihi will be... eeuw, gross... feasting on the Undead (I think I need to hurl just thinking about it!). :Pukeface :D
