NFL 18 Week Season

Just wanted to open this discussion in the Frenzy League. I think I understood the conversation in SAC'd as.......

Due to the extended NFL regular Season and the deletion of a preseason game..
From the conversation in SAC's, it was proposed that:
1) Frenzy Regular Season will remain Weeks 1-14
2) Frenzy Playoffs to remain Weeks 15-17
3) the Pre-season cut-off date will be the NFL's FINAL Cuts date,
from which time Frenzy teams will have 24 hours to make their rosters fully compliant. (Hard Date TBD)

Need league officials to confirm or correct.

Items 1 and 2 are correct. As for item # 3, in SACD we agreed that no shift of schedule was necessary due to the shortened pre-season to evaluate players. Therefore the Pre-season cut-off date will be the NFL's FINAL Cuts date, from which time Frenzy teams will have 24 hours to make their rosters fully compliant.

I assume final NFL cuts will be the Saturday before kickoff of week1.
Will league officers set a hard date at some point so we know when to get our rosters finalized? Not a real rush at this time, but we will need a specific date at some point.

Just a thought...

I don't know if the NFL's 3 preseason weeks and 18 week season is permanent.
But assuming that it is, we could make a change to all the rules referencing the "3rd NFL pre-season week" to "the Sunday prior to the first regular season game at 11:59pm" or "Monday prior to the first regular season game at 12:00am" - depending if it is the end of or beginning to a period. (or some other specified day before the NFL season kickoff)

I am in the process of moving the rules to a word doc and can make this edit while updating the new doc, if wanted.

I assume this is a rules committee decision for 2021, but would this be a rules committee call or a vote to make the change permanent?

I’m cool with all that. Including making the later roster cuts permanent.
