Predators and Swords Swing a Deal *MFL Updated*

NEWS FLASH!
Two-time defending champion Liquid Swords cut a deal with Parkwood Predators in an attempt for a three-peat.

In a little under an hour, owners Mike SantaLucia and Patrick Mullins hammered out a deal that sends Amari Cooper and Austin Hooper to the defending champs in their bid to win a third straight Frenzy title. In exchange the Predators receive the Swords 2021 1st and 4th round draft picks along with 2020 rookie WR prospect Tyler Johnson who has performed well when given the opportunity over the last two weeks. Veteran WR T.Y. Hilton will also join the Predators in what is viewed as a cap maneuver for the Swords.

In a press conference announcing the trade, Swords owner Mullins said, "When going after a third title in as many years, you're going to have to give up a load of potential to fill in the gaps. By acquiring Cooper and Hooper, we feel that we've addressed our two biggest needs. We were confident in our ability to win another title before this trade. Now our confidence is through the roof."

The Liquid Swords will indeed be striking fear throughout the league once again, and the Parkwood Predators look to take their draft stock into building their own powerhouse for the future.

Trade recap:
  • Predators send WR Amari Cooper and TE Austin Hooper
  • Liquid Swords send WRs T.Y. Hilton and Tyler Johnson along with 2021 1st and 4th round picks

Mike to confirm.

Confirmed.

While it’s difficult to admit we’re not where we expected to be, we’re encouraged by the addition of #Colts WR TY Hilton who we hope to help revive as he returns to the Predators, as well as the #Buccaneers rookie WR Tyler Johnson who we’ll continue to develop on our Practice Squad.

The Swords top pick will likely be a late pick once again, however it will give us 4 picks in the top 12 of the 2021 draft when combined with our own 1st, as well as 1sts from the Bees and the Roosters. That draft capital should give us flexibility to move around anywhere in the draft to add players we need to bring our once proud franchise back to being an annual contender.

Due to the addition of Tyler Johnson to our PS, we’ve unfortunately had to inform #Lions RB Bo Scarbrough of his release.

We’d wish the Swords luck in their quest for a 3-peat, but they rarely need luck!

If I did not have a 1st OR a 2nd in rookie draft, I think I might go into severe bout of fantasy depression....

That's too bad as I can see a deal for Evans that would fit your cap and be similar to the deal for Cooper!
