I turned off something while trying to practice adding photos...now the link button and image button don't do anything...

Quit with the super secret black magic voodoo you guys are using and help me fix this garbage,,,

Can I turn it back on???

I think I found what Chuck must have unclicked

Chuck, go to User CP, then Click EDIT OPTIONS under Settings and Options.

Then scroll down to THREAD DISPLAY OPTIONS and make sure SHOW images is checked.

It was a box within the link after you hit the image button...it said something like don't allow changes to pictures...

Jim...its just not the biggest thing on my plate since I still cant do pics anyway...

The key to pics is making sure you isolate the image in its own URL. To do that you RIGHT CLICK on the pic and then select OPEN IMAGE IN SEPARATE TAB. Then go to that tab and copy the URL. Then paste the URL into the post using the IMG tab or by typing [IMG]thentheURL[/IMG]

As Patrick said, look for images with .jpg .png or .gif extensions. Those will generally work unless the site has encryption on the image. Most fan site and blogger type news will have pics you can use.

I usually type in a key word (such as Moss gif to pull up gifs, or jpg and png for images into google for whatever I’m looking for. Then click the images tab on google to see what’s available. If I like a pic, I’ll right click on it and do as above to isolate it and then copy the URL.

when you click on insert image or insert link there is a box that comes up...mine no longer comes up...

within that box there was a check box that said something and I checked it...

Yeah I’m. Not sure what you saw there. When I click the image button it just asks for the URL and I paste it in there and hit enter.

In reality you don’t even need to use that button. Just type [IMG] then paster the URL and close with [/IMG] immediately after the URL

just have to delete that part I guess...
