Rookie Bonuses if RFA'd or Frnachised before 5 years?
 

So, just to get this our before RFA's and Franchise tags are due...Pat only assigned Bosa a 1 year contract last year.

If he Franchises him, I would say this falls under same rules as Renegotiating him, and he would be subject to Rookie Bonus

If he puts RFA tag on him, and matches whatever final bid is, same thing, would still qualify for rookie bonuses as long as Pat retains him for the 5 years.

If he declines him in RFA, then new team would not be subject to rookie bonuses, since would be same as a cut and sign as FA.

Agreed?

I think it makes sense, however, what if Pat tags him, and subsequently trades him at some point in the future. The rookie bonuses should carry over to the new team as well during Bosa’s 1st 5 NFL seasons right?

Correct, until he is cut and resigned, or the 5 years run out

Oh my. I thought I signed Bosa to 5 years, but looking back to declarations it looks like I did put him at 1 year. Crap! I've had him listed on my roster app at 5 years.
