Ir

Just want to make sure I am above board...

John Ross was injured when I said to extend him earlier today for 2 more weeks... now later today he was removed from the injury report. Is it still good to keep him on IR or do I need to fix it?

Thanks!

If he was listed as Questionable or worse at the time you posted the extension, then the extension sticks. If he wasn’t Questionable or worse than the extension wouldn’t be valid.

Re: Ir

He was listed as Questionable on Wednesday 11th with limited practice, but he did get in a full practice on Thursday 12th and was removed from injury report. I'm not sure what time the official injury report was released or if it was before/after post to extend. Post to extend was at 4:23PM. News article confirming full practice (on MFL player news) was at 4:25PM. Prob need commish ruling but based on times above, I'd say extension was posted in time unless there's an official injury report listing with timestamp somewhere.

Re: Ir

These designations are based on MFL, not NFL reports. If they are listed as I,O,D or Q, then we can place them on IR. Not sure how often MFL updates these status. Someone with Commish status should be able to ask MFL if they can determine when the change was made if need be.
If Rick saw the status on MFL before making the request, personally I say let the request stand.

It was listed on MFL and that's why I had extended him.

MFL seems to update daily with the injury destinations. I concur, if Rick saw a Q next to Ross's name when he requested the extension that it should stand.

Then I don't see an issue with the extension standing.

This situation sets a precedence and should be incorporated into the rule for clarification if nothing else...

I believe we have the MFL designation clearly in the rules... but we should look at it just to double check.

10. Injured Reserve

Each team has a maximum of two (2) injured reserve slots. For a player to be put on IR he must be listed as Questionable, Doubtful or Out on MFL league site. Suspended players are NOT eligible for the IR. Any player placed on IR must remain on IR for a minimum of 4 weeks. If after 4 weeks, and player is no longer IR eligible, he must be placed back on active squad or cut. If he still is IR qualified, he can be left on IR another 2 weeks. This will continue in 2 week increments until player is no longer IR eligible. By the start of the next rookie draft, each franchise must clear IR and have no more than sixteen players on their roster. Once a player is placed on IR, the club can pick up another player but they must go through the free agent channel as with any other pick up.

When a player is placed on IR, 50% of their salary will count against your cap (either active or DS, depending where the player was before the IR move), teams will also receive 1 temporary "contract year". This temporary year may be used at the discretion of the team for signing a replacement, etc. As soon as the injured player is removed from IR, the temporary year is revoked and the team must immediately return its roster to a total of 36 contract years.

The 1st available date will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off.
So yes... MFL is in the second line. (Or am I missing the point of the inquiry?)

Re: Ir

Timing I guess...owner makes IR on tue legally, but wed MFL removes all designation...in this case it was a 2 minute window...lol...

Re: Ir

yeah, I was wanting to activate him but unfortunately he was still questionable so that's when I decided to put him back on IR. I would have been happier if I was able to have activated him. 2 minutes works both ways...
