Oh shit I messed up my dates. I had read Jim's post in his Diggs trade not taking effect until Tuesday and was thinking that was when all moves were due.

It was further compounded by seeing Dale's roster declarations posted this morning at 12:53 AM Eastern time, so I was again thinking today was the deadline day.

This could be a CF, as I didn't IR or cut Albert Wilson yesterday as I had previously indicated would be a move.

I actually wanted to IR Wilson yesterday morning as he showed questionable on the MFL rosters, but was thinking I had to wait until today thus didn't make the move to IR or cut, by yesterday afternoon news came out that he was cleared to practice and the Q was no longer listed on the MFL roster page, so I was thinking I had to rethink my plans and took the night to think it over.

My original declarations were all clear except Gore got 1 year, Gordon 4, Bills DT 3, KC DT 2, Kirk was promoted (though never posted that link either as I thought it was due today) and Albert Wilson was to either be IR'd if eligible or cut. Again wasn't posted on the UFA board as I thought it was due today.

Commissioner Jim is going to have to decide on how to handle this.

You all know that I'm a "spirit of the rules" guy... this was an innocent (albeit stupid) mistake (especially because Mike helped write most of the rules!)... it didn't harm the integrity of the league, or impede anyone else's acquisition of a player.

I'm going to allow Mike's "post-dated" declarations... and trust him when he says what his original years were going to be. No penalties. JUST DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

If other league mates want to appeal this decision and think I should be harsher, you can voice your complaints below... and I'll reconsider.

PS. I'm leaving for a 3-day staff retreat with my church staff. So I'll check in every so often when I have time over the next few days.

OKAY... hold on... I guess I didn't understand the situation when Mike alerted me to his screw up. It wasn't that he didn't post his contract years in time (that's what I thought)... but that he ALTERED his choices AFTER the midnight deadline.

SO... I think we need to stand by the roster declarations that Mike had in place prior to the deadline. WR Wilson (1/110) will need to be cut because of a lack of cap space.

Mike can make any additional cuts he desires, with all of the proper cap ramifications after this.
