I put myself in complete cap hell and make a bid on him. |
(And now for something completely different)
[no bid... editorial to follow]
Bruce and Moulds are going way beyond what I thought they were worth.... I must say that you folks are making my 3 WR acquisitions during the RFA period look more and more economical: Tim Brown (1290), Troy Brown (1215) and Keyshawn Johnson (1400). It will be interesting to see how this season plays out, and who get's the bargains! |
1800
Heck why not, it wasn't my decision to cut him in the first place. |
Let's see, does anyone out there think Bruce will produce better numbers then a year ago?
I think he'll have about the same numbers... I doubt he'll have a better year. Seeing as he was ranked #21 at WR last year, I'd call 1800 a REACH, add in the fact that the Undead already paid a cap penalty to release him at a LOWER salary and one is really left scratching their head. Did the Undead get caught trying to bid him up and have him stuck on them? Odd situation to say the least LOL!:D |

Last year was a down year for my man Isaac, but last time I checked he was still a starter on the Rams, and hey, didn't that leech of a #3 WR head out of town? I think Bruce is the WR FA with the best chance to crank out big numbers. Since I had the cap room, I went after him. And with plenty of cap to spare, no less. As for his earlier release: again, not my decision. Somebody thought we'd be able to re-sign him for less. At any rate, he was in a multi-year contract I would not have been comfortable with; those years are now freed up, and since I can afford to bring him back for one year, I did. Doesn't everyone just love these colorful, kooky execs? They give the league such personality! |
Another piece of the equation, if I may offer my analysis, is that there is more money available to spend than there is talent. There are so many cheap players on peoples roster right now that if all the free agents got only contracts that were accurate of what they were worth, there'd be a whole lot of money not spent. The top free agents at each position are going to get overpaid, just cause they are the most valuable, and people have the money to spend.
As far as the undead cutting him and resigning, its an obvious sign that they have been reading Dan Duquette's book, "General Managing by a Dummy" not to be confused with "General Managin for Dummies." |
