As I began the RFA process, was thinking would keep Julio and let Jeffery go. I did not think Julio would get to 2600. Certainly was not expecting Jeffery to go to 2400. It is tempting to let Jeffery go to get a 1st round comp. But then I began to review the draft class this year. Really other than a handful of nice looking options, nothing really that appealing out there in later picks. Plus getting two top WR's is too hard to pass up. The rest of my team has filled out nicely, so I think I can afford to be a bit cash strapped during UFA bidding...thus...

MATCH

Wow...that just adds another veteran flipping when they told me they were gonna flop...guess this really is the time of season for deception...maybe I should take a class or something to learn this skill better...lol

I think in both cases it was teams adjusting to market conditions and reversing course. Stop thinking everyone is being deceptive. This isn't Military wargames!

I think what Chuck is referring to is our dealings for 1st round picks. I had started the convo with an offer of 1.13 as I was thinking of letting Alshon go. He wisely said it would take my 1.8 pick to get his pick next year. As I agreed, at that point my match or decline of Jeffery made no difference in the trade. Thus, after further deliberation in my mind, and further review of potential picks at 1.13, I decided I would rather have had Jeffery one more year.

No deception, as I said 'might' let him go. And it had no impact either way on our deal.

He felt I was deceptive to him as well because at the time we chatted I was heavily leaning towards walking from Brown, and that's when bids were at like 2,700 or so. However, after thinking things out and reviewing the WR landscape I reversed course and decided to match. Had nothing to do with deception in my case either, just a changing of the tea leaves so to speak!
