Lamont Jordan Bidding
I just wanted to make one comment on the Lamont Jordan bidding. Next time someone wants to lower the rookie scale for running backs, lets just take a look at this thread. Lamont is in no better position than any rookie running back (and worse position than many, being the backup to a historically healthy future hall of famer, and a couple of years older than most rookies), yet his bidding has escalated to the level of a mid first round draft choice price for a rookie rb. Lets take a look at the pool of elligible players next year and see if anyone is willing to trade their first round pick for Lamont Jordan at 1000+.

Good point. This past off-season saw the average salary of RBs go sky high, in my estimation. Jordan is definitely a risk at a $1K+ salary... but could be high reward, looking down the line.
As far as the rookie salary scale goes... I think RBs are fine... QBs and WRs are probably still "overpriced"... but with the freeze on accelerated contracts in the DS squad, we've moved a long way to leveling this out! Insightful post! But trading for Lamont Jordan is a moot point right now, since he's currently a free agent. |
