Why "waste" a pick on an UDFA?
If you're not familiar with this hard-working running back, you should be.
Yah, he played at South Dakota State & dominated the competition. He was the first back in D1 history to record 3 straight 2k yard seasons!
When SDSt. played Kansas in 2012, he had 183 yards and a 99-yard TD. When they played Nebraska in 2013, he had 202 yards & 2 TDs. And last year against Missouri, he ripped off 103 yards (1TD) + 41 passing. The kid can play against big competition. Plus, the dude can play in the snow (see above higlights on YouTube)!

Now he goes to the Lions. I have no dreams he'll overtake Abdullah, who I expect to be a GREAT fit in Detroit. But he could easily make the squad this year as the #3 back... OR, if they try to stash him on their practice squad, another team will undoubtedly sign him to a contract.

SO... I'm stoked to be able to watch his preseason.
