Mechanic of my cuts tonight
 

I need to get McCown and Wane off my IR and roster and I want to be sure I'm doing this right. My goal is to cut McCown and Wayne from IR (whom I honestly forgot were there).

In anticipation of this week's RFA, I had moved Toon to active as I saw that his time on Taxi was up. That moved filled the last open spot on my active roster and may have screwed up the fact that players coming off IR must flow through the active roster before being released.

So, can I

A) cut them directly? or
B) Release Austin Davis to make a parking spot. Then active McCown and cut him, then active Wayne (who will then roll off the roster naturally)

My goal is to get rid of them, I just want to be sure I'm doing it correctly.

If option B is the way, then in hindsight, I should have done this before activating Toon and I'll try to remember that for next year!

You can cut them straight off the IR. Just post threads with their contract details in the Free Agency forum.

Edited to add, if they are on expiring contracts no need to cut. They will expire off the IR list when the new league year begins April 1st.

Thanks. They are on expiring contracts, so sounds like they will just drop from IR.

RFA declarations are the only thing due tonight. Everything else (TS to Active rollover, contract year rollovers, etc...) takes place on April 1.

So as not to confuse anyone with my previous post...

The RFA declarations only apply to the 2015 season. Thus their declared values won't be accounted for until April 1, when the new 2015 season begins.
