Peyton

Am I the only one curious to see who the Opihi will cut to accommodate Peyton should Jim win the bidding?

He would have just cut some chump change

:muhaha: muahahaha
seriously considered putting in a claim on him when he was originally cut... but decided to wait and see how the FA bidding played out.

That 3 year contract at 1500 is the ONLY reason he wasn't claimed (the years not the dollars).

Are we allowed to speculate on who he might cut if he wins?

Why not, it's just speculation... none of knows what he'll actually do.

Re: Peyton

1300 was my limit. If anyone else wants to keep Pat from renegotiating PEYTON too cheaply, jump in now!

So... just who were you going to cut had you won the bid? :D

Marshawn.

Cut Sanchez and Michael Floyd, and move Bernard back to TS

Wow...you would give up this year for better QB option next year, assuming Wilson does not improve again? Interesting....

Honestly, that's exactly who I though't you'd cut. Figured you'd lean on Bernard in his place for the stretch run.

Re: Peyton

Not giving up on Wilson. I think he's going to be a GREAT fantasy QB over the duration of his contract. However, I was trying to weigh whether or not having Peyton for THIS YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIP run would be worth cutting Lynch & relying on my other RBs.

In the end, I knew that Pat would probably want him back at a similar contract with less years. I wanted to make sure that he "paid" for the impulse cut last week. He's now losing money on resigning Peyton. Mission accomplished. Had I acquired Peyton, I would have looked at creative juggling of my roster, but in the end figured I'd have to go with a Lynch cut.

FWIW I would have cut Stafford but my max was 1200

FYI, it was Dale who cut him, not Pat ;-)

I guess it would be a wash if you started Manning, Murray and Ingram, vs Wilson, Murray and Lynch. roll of the dice I guess

Re: Peyton

I was figuring Lynch. He has tough match ups during the playoffs.

I'm thinking of getting in on the Peyton bidding just for an extra late round draft pick but I'll have problems fitting them on the roster.

:goodpost:

The RFA value on a 1 year deal certainly crossed my mind, but once he exceeded 1200 it was out of my range. If I had more cap space I'd do it and tag him next year.

A newcomer jumps into the Manning fray out of nowhere... apparently others are realizing the value of the sage advice Bobby and I had regarding his value not only for the playoff run but also as a RFA.

More

Re: Peyton

Min 20 cb bump would have done it. Didn't want to use 2015 cap on him.
