31 Oct deadline?
 

Can you guys give a heads up on the benefit to cutting/waiving deadbeat players by this Friday. I read that it is something like the end of the hard cap or something like that. I am guessing that this is for the current 2014 season. Let me run this out for you....I can cut a guy and absorb all the penalties during this current season. If I cut a guy AFTER 31 Oct, then there are some sort of penalties absorbed in the 2015 season....

If that is correct, then I am good to go...if I need more education, then someone please set me straight....

You are correct. If you cut someone now, 100% of the salary cap hit gets charged to your 2014 season. If you cut AFTER the deadline, then 50% is this year & 50% is next year. It all depends on how you want to handle your cap. Some people like to "trim the fat" before the deadline... others like to ride it out.
