Injured Reserved reminder
 

Just a reminder... when the season changes over (like we just did), all players on IR are automatically put back in to the active roster (with contract year & cap space implications).

You do not need to designate them "back to active." It should just happen with the season rollover.

I just tried looking for that wording in the rules and didn't find it. But that has been our MO... right, Mike & Burt?!?!

In section 10 of the rules, Injured Reserve, first paragraph, it says "before the start of rookie draft, each owner must clear their IR and have at least 13 players"

The rules state IR players must be activated before the draft, though I don't recall why it's that way as I think we've always practiced it as being with the new year on 4/1.

I can't think of a reason why it should roll past 4/1. Honestly I was surprised when I read it a short while ago.

13 players isn't required until the end of the off-season. Something is off with that section of the rules.

So was there a ruling on this commish? Are players allowed to be left on IR during RFA bidding? This would definitely impact several teams and what they can bid on...

Sorry. Thought this was settled.
All IR players are activated BEFORE any new season stuff starts.
That's the spirit of the rules. That's the way it should be.
There should be no players on IR now.
