As we near the end of April... I'm going to say that any RFA player NOT put in play by Saturday night at 11:59pm EST will be considered "SOLD" to the tendering team at the tendering price. Any players still in play will run their due course.

Per the rules, our Frenzy Rookie draft is supposed to start on the 3rd Monday in May (the 20th). However, if we get everything tied up before, we can start on Monday the 13th.

I'm out of town May 10-12, I'd prefer the draft start on it's scheduled date this year as I really won't be able to do any prep work for the draft until the week of the 13th.

Kidding aside...I have no problem sticking with later date if that works for most. Of course I would have to keep my lost bet by-line longer but I can live with that.

Either date works for me..RFA's can end on time, and we can officially start the draft clock as scheduled, but picks can always be made prior to that date as always....

The OPIHI will be turning their 2 comp points into 2 4th round picks, rather than 1 3rd round pick. FYI.

Not allowed.

When we came up with the compensation points system, we specifically discussed this and came to the resolution that teams cannot pick and choose how to divide up the points to avoid further dilution of the draft (i.e. take multiple lower rounds over a single higher round). Comp points were designed to be awarded in the highest possible pick value, i.e 6 pts = a 2nd and 3rd, not 3 3rds, or 6 4ths, etc.

I'd like to see the posts about this. I seem to remember that we did say it was possible... even though you can still only keep one 4th rounder each year.

Reading through the thread now. Looks like we've accomplished the goal of reducing the number of 1st round comps awarded. In 2007 there were 7 comps given! Yikes. Glad we moved this direction. Still haven't found the posts about "cafeteria style" pick selection (though Mike states early in the thread that it's a done deal).

I now realize I wasn't in on most of the discussion back in the summer of 2007, as I was in England for an entire month, and away from the computer for about 6 weeks. Must be why my memory isn't as good as I thought it was.

There were two things. The main vote was for revamping the comp system to points. That passed. But inside the vote, we broke down a discussion of HOW the determination of picks would be made. There was a mini-vote inside that thread with three options:
a) predetermined slots for your points (what you get is what you get)
b) true cafeteria-style selection (owners can divide their points as they see fit)
c) abridged cafeteria-style (an owner can choose to drop a 3rd comp to a 4th comp)

The votes for that were: a) 4, b) 1, c) 3... only seven votes

Nowhere does the commissioner (whomever it was at that time) state that the a) option became the official selection.

Not to drag something out that's over 6 years old... but did this really ever come to a conclusion?
