RULE CHANGE: Waiver Claims during "playoffs"
 

In order to close the loophole in the rules, I offer the following rule change:

Any team (even non-playoff bound teams) can claim a player who is placed on waivers during the playoffs. (NOTE: This does not affect the playoff FA rules.)

I voted NO because I'd like to propose a 3rd option.

Do NOT allow ANY waiver claims in the post-season. Instead, players wiaved during the post-season become instant UFA's.

They can be bid on by the playoff teams but only for 1 yr deals like the rest of the UFA's, and all waived players in the post-season are UFA's the next off-season.

I voted no because when you are in the playoffs, you are fighting for something. Why would we allow THE Mighty Chunks to bump a player, to keep a playoff team from filling in for an injury? Makes no sense to change that rule. I have never been in a league where non-playoff teams are allowed to get new players after season has ended.

Oops...I just re-read it...only dropped player claims...not FA bidding..DOH...

I still vote No...only because I am republican who likes to see the rich get richer...:muhaha:

after rereading it, i change my vote to yes, not sure how we can do that. thought it was for FA, tahts what i get for reading and trying to work

Yep... it's only for PLAYERS CUT and THEN CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS within the 24-hour window. Now, if this motion fails... then Mike's alternative motion can be on the table.

Not to be difficult, but we didn't even have any discussion before this was put up for a vote.

I really think the idea of making all post-season waiver cuts UFA's with 1 yr max contacts for the rest of the year makes more sense than options 1 or 2.

Just catching back up on the 2012 discussion. I see I voiced nobody should be able to make a claim, which was one of 2 options I just posted are what I'd think would be fair for all. I think this is still the best choice though.
