Post Season FA

So how are guys like Vick Ballard and Miles Austin handled since bidding began on them prior to the week 14 games?

Can non-playoff teams still bid on them since they were started prior to week 14 games? And on a similar note, can they be assigned to more than 1 year when bidding ends?

Post season bidding does not begin until Tuesday, is my understanding. So any bids active prior to then, will need to be played out as in season FA...only those bids started on Tuesday and after are Post Season FA's.

We had a BIG discussion about this a few years ago. We eliminated eBay style bidding, which would have meant the highest bidder at 11:59pm EST on this past Saturday would have won them. Bidding continues like regular season. ANYONE can bid on the players that are already in play. New bids, however, can only be made by playoff teams.

Re: Post Season FA

Actually, a question to clarify is... did a player need to be "on the table" by Saturday at 11:59pm, or can anyone bid on be counted towards this week?

My reading is that bidding STOPS at 11:59pm EST on Saturday. Any further bids (Sunday or Monday) count toward the NEXT week. So no problem on a player who we know is going to be extended past the regular season deadline (like Austin & Ballard). But for someone who was bid on AFTER the 11:59pm EST deadline (like Underwood), technically that would be a bid during the Week 14. So he'd fall under POST SEASON FA rules.

Or am I reading our rules wrong?

Jim, that's how I was thinking it was/should be handled

What about this toilet bowl idea? If there is something on the line for all teams why should those teams not in the "playoffs" be excluded from bidding and trying to do their best? Just asking...

Thus was also discussed last year and toilet bowl participant don't get to be part of post season bidding

We "sucky" teams have to "dance with the girls we brought" to the toilet bowl, so to speak.

That just sounds so wrong, no matter how you look at it....
