DS and contract years question
 

Ok, I know that salaries are frozen for rookies on the DS until they become active. But I'm assuming contract years still get used up as the years go. I just wanted clarification.

So I have Player X on my DS signed to a 5 year contract starting at 100 cbs. In his 3rd year I promote him to active squad. Now his salary kicks in but he'd only have 3 years left on his contract correct? Or does his contract kick in and now he has 5 years from when he's active? I'm pretty sure the intent was for contract years to still count while they are on DS but just wanted clarification.

Correct. Salaries to not go up while on the DS, but contract years are used up each year regardless.
