Poll: Expand DS, Add 4th Round, Adjust Salary Scale in 2004
I want to get the draft underway. Lets get a vote on this proposal, I haven't heard any other compromise offered up. So...
Expand DS to 5 slots and $3500 this year. Expand draft to 4 rounds with all 4th round players receiving league minimum salary. Agree to adjust salary scale in 2004. Compromise people... I don't think a hard line either way benefits the league. |
can you add 2003 to the equation?
I for one am against 2004 but in favor of 2003 |
I understand you want to change it all in 2003, as does Mike... and when it comes to my non-commish opinion I would like to as well. The point is, we need a compromise and this is the only proposal on the table that attempts to give something to both sides.
I also don't think we need to come up with the adjusted salary scale now... there will be time for that in the off-season, allowing for the amount of discussion deserved. If we can agree it will be adjusted in 2004, teams can plan based on that knowledge. |
Well I initially proposed said compromise, so I will vote in favor of it, but I will be unhappy to see salaries change in 2004 now that picks changed hands.
I'll suck up and shut up about it and take it for the team so to speak, but in reality that same logic was used against the 2003 draft last August because teams like me had multiple picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds of the 2003 draft, and now we have teams with similarities (not my own) in 2004. |
I understand your that.....but why can't we give it as an option.
only about 5 of us are really posting about this....give more of an option. 1.Cap reduction for 2003 2. Cap reduction for 2004 3. NO reduction |
I've withdrawn my support of this proposal since I feel Brians idea of eliminating the cap on the DS with my addendum to only allow drafted rookies on to it. Some discussions on DS years still need to be heard out on that proposal, but it has promise IMO.

LOL... I voted to go with this proposal.
Guess it's still political. LOL... we need to be careful now not to make rash decisions on the spur of the moment. I think it's a decent enough compromise... but if there are others... then bring it on. (sigh) |

I could go for this proposal, but I think the other one (eliminating the DS cap) is really superior.
