What... no love for Gannon?

I can't believe he's gonna sell tonight to the Opihi for only 850. The guys is a top 3 QB.

If I hadn't already won Brees and had Garcia I'd be upping him myself.

Come on guys... 850 is just TOO cheap for a player of his caliber.

Doesnt he get no love every year? I guess in a lot of people's minds he's still a journeyman QB, not the NFL MVP. Maybe they think he's too old and will not be able to repeat what he's been doing lately. I dunno. Regardless after signing Ricky and Moss I dont have much cap space to be a player in the FA markets.

Hard to believe isn't it? Especially knowing we have some Raiders homers in the league. I don't get it.

Nothing like using the board to cajole other owners into upping a bid... especially when it comes to division rivalries! Sharks will be sharks...

Nice to see you had the chutzpah to finally make the bid yourself, Mike.

I knew that Gannon would be matched at such a low bid... never ever entertained the possibility of actually getting him. Now that you've upped him, Mike... we can make Brian think a bit about matching him.

Goll dang table talk. I knew I should have talked to the Ragers and asked them not to respond to Brees until after Gannon passed the deadline. I'm not sure if that would have worked anyways, but at least Mike upped the bid himself instead of snookering someone else into doing his dirty work.

I've already set a max price for myself to match Gannon, so the decision won't be difficult to make. Just let me know when everyone is done bidding with him. :D

Division Rivalries? Gannon's rights are owned by the Dodger who reside out West young man.

As for having the chutzpah to raise Gannon... no way would I let him slide that cheap. I'll wager he still gets matched at 1050, but damn, at least it's a slight increase over last year. He should still go higher IMO.

I probably would have upped him anyways Brian, maybe not to 1050 but I wouldn't let him sell THAT cheap :)!

When I spoke about divisional rivalries, I was referring to the fact, that I was the leading bidder for Gannon at the time of your above "public service announcement." LOL

And I think you're right... Gannon should be matched at this price... especially since he's the top fantasy QB from last season (if my memory serves me correctly).

As for upping his bid even more... I'll probably do it... but right now I want to see how things shake out. We've still got a day and a half or so to watch it!

Well, IMO there was no way the Dodgers would have let you have Gannon at 850. He would have matched. So I didn't view it as a move to get a divisional rival at all. It was more a move for the league as a whole.

As for his value, he was the #1 QB in the Frenzy last year, #2 overall (only behind Holmes). And lest we all forget, he was all the league MVP in the NFL. Gannon is no longer a journeyman in my book!

Yeah suprised Gannon was going that low. I love the Raiders but I've learned to seprate my love for the Raiders and my Fantasy Football Team.

He's too high for me because I have Air McNair at a such a goddamn bargain price. So instead of relegating McNair to backup status I'd rather spend my grand elsewhere.

I dunno though... now that Gruden has published a textbook on making the Raiders look like fools.....

Thing is, Gruden had the defense like no other in the league to execute that textbook. Gannon will be just fine.

There is no defense in the league close to the Bucs of '03 and will never be again. Much like the Balitmore Ravens during their Super Bowl Run.

Too many things went right last year, namely career years from a lot of their guys on D. Com'n when will Derrick Brooks ever get that many INTs and TD returns?

As for the Raiders, I have to give credit to the Bucs they decimated the Raiders but one has to wonder what would happen had Barret Robbins played the game. He's not only the rock of the O-LIne but his absence caused a distraction.

Just some thoughts from a Raider's homer.
