12A. Qualifying
A total of six (6) teams will qualify for the playoffs.
<BIG>Setup would be:
Regular Season = 14 games in 13 NFL Weeks. One week double headers near the end of the season, with only one divisional game (out of the two). AND it must be after all NFL bye-weeks have finished

Playoffs - 3 division winners, 3 wildcards (Top 3 records - no division cap)
Week 14 - 6 teams, #1 and #2 get a bye week.
Week 15 - 4 teams
Week 16 - Championship game

We still get 14 games in and we still have the Week 16 Championship. </BIG>


12B. Seeding
Teams will b<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:personname>e s</st1:personname>eeded as follows:
1. Division Champion with the best overall record (1st round bye)
2. Division Champion with th<st1:personname>e s</st1:personname>econd best overall record (1st round bye)
3. Division Champion with the third best overall record
4. Wild Card team (best record of non Divisional Winners)
5. Wild Card Team (2nd best record of non Divisional Winners)
6. Wild Card Team (3rd best record of non Divisional Winners)
12C. Qualifying/Seeding Tie-Breaker
The Leagues tie-breaking system for play-off qualification and seeding is as follows:
1. Head-to-head record
2. Division Record (between teams from th<st1:personname>e s</st1:personname>ame division)
3. Total Overall Points
4. Coin Toss
12D. Playoff Ties (Game Day)
Tie games during the play-off rounds will be determined by home-field advantage. The team with the highest seed is given the home field and will be awarded the win in case of a tie.
12E. Playoff Schedule
First Round: The Divisional Winner with the best record will face the Wild Card team. The Second and Third seeded Divisional Winners will face each other.
Championship: The winners of the first round games will meet each other for the League Championship.
12F. Home Field Advantage
The higher seed in the 1st two rounds of the playoffs will have 7 points added to their score as a home field advantage. There will be no home field advantage in the championship game since that is considered to take place at a neutral site.

If three teams have the same record, is the tiebreaker H2H record between all three or do we skip H2H altogether?

I felt this had to get posted...2005 Rules only list 4 playoff teams so a person would have to work through the forum for update, thought this would avoid playoff confusion.

H2H with more than 2 teams would be aggregate W-L between those 3..so team one is 2-1, team 2 is 1-2 and team 3 is 0-3, team 1 is the WC, teams 2 and 3 are eliminated - if you have ties among the teams after this 1st round , you move onto 2nd tie-breaker if pertinent (I believe this tie-breaker is only for teams within same division)

First Round: The two divisional winners with the best records (first & second seeds) get byes. The third divisional winner (third seed) plays the wildcard team with the worst record (sixth seed). The other two wildcard teams (fourth & fifth seeds) also face off.

Division winners will be the top seeds.

If Seed 6 beats Seed 3 in the first round, does Seed 6 play Seed 1 or Seed 2 in the next round?

Should be Seed 1..
in second round:
Seed 1 plays lowest available Seed
Seed 2 plays next lowest available Seed
