Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
I can't tell..Frenzy rules look different than SAC'd rules..I don't see there is a time frame between In-Season and Off_Season Free Agency...someone who has been here longer than I have might know better...

Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
Waiver claims can happen ANYTIME. Not sure if the rules state that... but absolutely that has how we've been doing things in the Frenzy. Anytime a player is cut, the waiver wire can be used... remembering, of course, that you have to keep the salary/contract of the cut player, if you're granted the waiver. You just can't wait for the 72-hour waiver period to pass and then put a player back into play during the RFA period (or rookie draft period).
Or am I mis-remembering how we've done things folks? |
Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
Looks like rules in Frenzy are same as SAC'd..this is SAC'd interpretation...there are two different waiver periods....In Season Free Agency and Off Season Free Agency. Based on rules below, it is implied the waiver wire is not active between NFL Week 14 and May 16th.
"Each player waived will be placed on the waiver wire for a period of 24 hours during In Season Free Agency, and 72 hours during Off Season Free Agency. During this period, each team will have the opportunity to claim the waived player and assume his current contract without the player reaching Free Agency. During the appropriate waiver wire period, each interested team must post in the thread indicating the player was waived, their intention to claim said player. " "Off-Season Free Agent biding will open on May 16th each year and close the day after the 3rd NFL Pre-Season game (for most teams) at 11:59pm." "Monday August 29 at 11:59pm - this will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off - 2005 Off-Season Free Agency ENDS" "Tuesday August 30 (flexible date to be the day after contracts and DS are declared) - opening of 2005 In-Season Free Agency" "Beginning of Week 14 Games (Sunday December 11) - 2005 Off-Season Free Agency Ends" - I think this is supposed to be In Season FA ends |
Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
I seriously think we should allow waivers of players cut during the off season... doesn't that make more sense? I think that rule was more about when in-season & off-season free agency was... and less about waivers. But that's just me... others? (Or am I just a lone, misguided soul?)

Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
My thinking is it was put in there to allow everyone some time off...so if most people take the time away from boards, then those who don't have a better shot at picking up players...just my thought...we are taking this literally in SAC'd....

Re: Cut QB Josh Johnson Tampa Bay 2/110
guess it's just me then... oh well... best policy is to go by the letter, unless otherwise stated.
