Frenzy Rule Book update question
Hey Guys!
Who is rewritting the rulebook? If I have access I could update the very few areas that I understand and have someone like Burt check for accurracy (and spelling!). It could be a "work in progress" while I play through my 1st year... In particular I would revise the RFA CB tender chart and the point compensation system for not matching your RFA's. There are also a few number discrepancies with 18 and 16 players on squads before the rookie draft and total contract years of 38 and 36 are mixed off and on in the rule document. Dates are a whole different discussion... It is important that the rule book and the forum match otherwise its difficult to build any kind of strategy. They can say things in different ways BUT they have to say the same thing. If a rule gets changed by forum vote then the rule book has to reflect that change BEFORE the change can take effect. Any owner (especially a new one) shouldn't have to wonder what the rules are! The rule book IS the rules and the forum shows the journey. Having to crosscheck with the forum to see if an issue has been revised or completely changed is ridiculous! That said - the roster.app received from Jim and the great communication and answers to my questions by Burt have made this manageable. I am looking forward to this upcoming season!!! Re: Frenzy Rule Book update question
Hey John. From my role as Commish in the SAC'd league, I can say it is very nice to have an owner come on board who immediately wants to take on an administrative role. It is very much appreciated for sure.
Jim is the commish in Frenzy, so he can let you know if that role has already been taken, but I believe he was going to try to do it himself, but I am sure he would welcome the help. Right now, setting up the 2010 website is a major chore. You are correct, it would be nice to have the Rule book updated and in synch with the forums...if a rule is just discussed, that does not mean it becomes a rule. A rule needs to be voted on to pass as a new rule...so in the forums, any Poll you see in the Rules forum, will constitute whether a new rule has passed or failed. I had revised the rule book in SAC'd, and agree having specific Dates is misleading...I tried to eliminate specific dates (i.e. 2005) - and make the date reflect a time frame, like 2nd Monday in May. If you have time to go through rules doc, and point out specific discrepancies, post them here, and we can all help out by digging through forums to see if new rule poll was run to change the rule or what everyones understanding of the rule is - maybe there are some misprints. |
Re: Frenzy Rule Book update question
John, I'd welcome you working on the rules. That would be a big help. I'm going to get the MFL site converted over to the 2010 season this week. If we get that, the app done, and the rules ready... then we can start the RFA period next week. Why don't you put a draft together & we all can look at it and see what needs to still be addressed?!

Re: Frenzy Rule Book update question
Jim,
I see the 2010 Frenzy site is up...Great job!!! I also notice the 12th team is filled. How does an owner go about updating their team roster? Do we post changes (and support our reasoning) here on the forum or Email you (or whoever has the roster.app used to enter the 2010 roster info)? If here I will submit the easy fix - all 5 of my 2009 rookies were assigned 5 years, all but PTurner were taxi squad - He was my 4th round Practice Squad assignee. So all 5 guys should have 4's for 2010. I got that info from Amish 2009 declarations... MVick years adjustment and salary changes are saved for your answer. |
Re: Frenzy Rule Book update question
All roster updates are to be posted in these message boards... usually under FRENZY FREE AGENCY/WAIVER WIRE. Then the "powers that be" will make sure the MFL site is updated.
Now... if you're talking about corrections to the roster app... you can also post those on the site (FRENZY LEAGUE CHAT). Patrick (Swords) is finalizing the app... should be ready in a day or so. You could wait until he sends it out... or make a post now, so you and he have the same stuff! (Side note... I'm still working on getting the MFL site 'up to speed'. Hopefully after I work on it tonight, we'll be good to go!) Quote:
