2010 Calendar
 

Here are the key dates upcoming for everyone to keep in mind:

March 24th at 11:59pm - RFA Declarations are Due
March 31st at 11:59pm - Soft Cap Period Ends
April 1st at 12:00am - Hard Cap Period Begins
April 1st at 12:00am - RFA Bidding Opens
April 30th at 11:59pm - RFA Bidding Closes
May 10th at 12:00am (the 2nd Monday in May each year) this allows about 3 weeks for the NFL draft to be evaluated - Rookie Draft Begins
June 1st at 12:00am - this date will also be somewhat flexible in that as it would not open until 48 hours after the rookie draft has been completed - Opening of the UFA period

Should we consider adding a few more dates? I am thinking about a date for all potential rule amendments/changes to be submitted and a date for voting on those changes?

According to the rules:
"major changes to the rules can only be made through a league-wide vote. Any member club can propose a change to the rules by calling for a vote from the entire league during the off-season ONLY. Simply write up something that can be answered with a yes or no, and if a majority of clubs vote yes, the rules will be changed accordingly. Any rules changes after the start of the draft through the conclusion of the season must be agreed upon by the entire league unanimously. In the event of a tie in any rule vote, the rules committee will hold a separate vote, with majority rule breaking the tie. "

Even though it says Draft, my interpretation of the end of the Off Season is when the Hard Cap begins, April 1st, also the start of RFA bidding.

However, it does not include those players acquired during the playoffs. I will try to get those in there soon and uploaded...not sure if I'll make it before RFA begins though but surely by this weekend.

What is the status on the RFA Period? Did it start this morning or is there a delay?

Well, we still have not heard from Brett...that is my dilemma...if we go ahead and start, and never hear from him, then have to find a new owner, then is he handicapped by not participating in RFA?

Any ideas? Does anyone have a friend that would be willing to take over his team, with the possibility that it be temporary, but could be permanent?

Next dates coming up:

Sunday August 29th: rookies/RFAs/UFAs(offseason) all have to have contracts declared
Sunday August 29th: Injured Reserve Opens
Sunday August 29th: Off-Season Free Agency ENDS

Monday August 30th: opening of In-Season Free Agency
