Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Hey Matt - I guess I missed it, but you were put in Years violation when you added David Hawthorne (as best I can tell - may have even been over before this) - anyway, currently you are at 70 years - take off the 4 years for the 4 players on IR, and you are still at 66. So unless my counts are wrong, both Hawthorne and Babineaux will have to be released and penalties assessed.

Patrick, can you double check this for me?

I don't have my roster here at home but I am pretty sure I am right at the max but not over. I had put D'Qwell Jackson on the IR to add Hawthorne. I will post what I have tomorrow (maybe I missed something). Thanks!

Hmm...strange...the website is showing you at 70 years; but I just added it up and it comes out to 69...I'll have to post a ticket with support....sorry man...looks good...

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Antoine Bethea is actually 2 yrs on the MFL site.

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

And that is correct, based on your declarations:

So it looks like you are in violation as I stated....

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Crap, I see the difference now. So what does this mean?

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

It means you lose both Hawthorne and Babineaux, since as best I can tell, Hawthorne is who initially put you over. You cannot bid on either one for 30 days since the penalty, and penalties will be assessed. I think the normal 20% on Hawthorn, and 30% on Babineauex

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Fair enough. Just to clarify this means $20 for Hawthorne and $30 for Babineaux for a $50 total? Does this mean $25 for this years cap and $25 for next years cap because of the soft cap period?

Sorry for all the questions/confusion but I may need to another player and I want to make sure I don't screw anything else up going forward.

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Yes, $20 for Hawthorne, and $30 for Babs...and it looks like the 30 day moratorium on Hawthorne would be up now, so you can bid on him again if you wish. And since we are in Hard Cap period, the 50cb will be split between this year and next.

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Looks like I may need to update the roster app for roster penalties. I've been applying all penalties to the hard cap regardless of being in soft cap period. I just see it as a one time penalty that shouldn't be spread over two seasons

If this isn't the case, I'll clean up the app and would like to bring this to a vote next season: that all cap/roster penalties are always applied as hard cap penalties.

Re: Gunslingers in Roster Violation

Well, I did that also at first, but I cannot find anything that qualifies cuts caused by being in Cap Violation as treated differently from those done voluntarily. I think it would make more sense to do it the way you have been...ideas?
