Brett and Miami/Buffalo D

Hey Brett saw your comments and that you looked pretty pissed. I wasn't trying to squeeze you out of a bye week D. I really wanted the Buffalo Bills D this week against Cleveland and I wasn't trying to screw but was just protecting myself.

1) Look at my defense. The Oakland Raiders. 'Nuff said as a fellow Raider fan. Bills vs Cleveland is a prime match up.

2) Let's look at the timeline here.

Friday
- 1409 - I had a 105 bid on the Bills
- 2210 - You bid the Bills to 200
- 2218 - You open bidding on the Dolphins
- 2225 - I bid on Bills at 205
- 2227 - Bid up Miami D

Between my bid on the Bills D bid and the Miami D, I realized that there would be a 7 minute buffer in which you could potentially score the Dolphins and then possibly up the bid on the Bills to leave me stuck with the Raiders D. So I decided to take my chances and bid on Miami D.

If you really wanted to secure a bye week D you SHOULD have just opened bid on the Miami D and leave the Bills D for me. If I had gotten the Bills D, I guarantee you I would not have bid on the Miami D.

However, since you bid both you put me in a tight spot and frankly an all win situation for me 1) I can win both the Bills D and Miami D leaving you iced out 2) You bid on both - leaving it Raiders D vs nothing (not that big of an advantage) 3) You bid on one - leaving me with a replacement D for the Raiders. All 3 of those options are better than sitting back and allowing you to score the Miami D and hoping you don't then last minute bump the Bills D.

So hopefully you can see and not become so pissed. I mean this all would have been avoided if you just left the Bills D to me and opened up on Miami D.

I guess I see your point, but I still don't agree with it. I guess you can spin it any way you want.

I also wanted the Bill's D that is why I opened the bidding on them. After I saw you up the bid by a whole $5, it looked like you were just f'ing with me.

I then "WAY" over bid them to chase you and just incase you really wanted them and out bid me again, I needed to have a fall back.
That is why I also opened bidding on the Dolphins D., figuring that I was covering my ass.

The last thing I expected was for you to bid on both, that is why I never checked again that night. By the time I found out, it was to late to do anything about it.

It is my fault for assuming that I wouldn't get screwed. That is not the way I play the game. I have had many opportunities to do what you did to me and never took it, actually never even considered it.

I figured that we had been playing this game together for long enough that you would know I wasn't out to F you over. My fault for assuming anything.

What's done is done, it is water under the bridge, it is what it is, hmmm can't think of anymore cliche's to hit you with.

Late.

The point is I wasn't sure if you were out to screw me or not because you bid on both Ds when all you had to do was open up a bid on Miami D. Bidding on both Ds seemed like a play to screw with me rather then secure a bye week D.

The reason I only upped the bid by 5 is because I knew your situation and I wanted a replacement D for the Raiders. At that point I was not bidding against you, but rather against the clock. It was up to you if you wanted to risk playing tag with the Bills or go for another D so close before game day.

Again, there were many times like yourself that this opportunity presented itself in the past and it hasn't even crossed my mind. I know people may have a different perception of me, but I really only bid on players I want.

OK... this is getting stupid.. Like I said, "it is what it is". There were plenty of D's out there to bid on.

When you know I need a bye week filler, with no option but to pick one up, because I have no back up. You bid on the same one I did.

OK... Let's assume you wanted the Buffalo D.. When I bid them up to 200 and there are only 4 D's out there that are higher $$$ than that and the Buffalo D. is ranked #14 over all.

This might be a clue that I am serious and trying to chase you. The fact that I put up the Miami D(ranked #15) should have told you I was just covering my ass.

If I wanted to "F" you over I would have put the Buffalo bid in at 11:59 EST. and never put a bid in on Miami. You had a D to play... I did not.. I still left you plenty of time to find another D. A.K.A. Miami.

You threw the first salvo, when you rebid on both. I was pissed and that is the reason I froze you out on both teams. Probably an over reaction, but I am not perfect... I appologize..

Um... the bottom line is... Brett is going to win the head to head matchup this weekend between these two squabbling teams, even without a starting defense.

Yes Jim... I hadn't brought that up on purpose.. It, in my opinion, was not the point and to be perfectly honest, I probably would have been a little harsher if that wasn't the case.
I have never been one to get into these squabbles, but this one got the better of me. I have sunk to the level of the people that I usually laugh at in these situations. It's only a game and it is stupid to piss and moan like this. My appologies to all.

Brett

Ok. I just wanted to let you know my thought process and that I wasn't bidding up on both just to freeze you out. I really did want the Bills b/c as far as FA DEF they were the best ones out there IMO. If you don't believe me that's not my problem.

In the end the Raiders D sucks and I lost. (STUPID Jags...Garrard and MJD let me down).

I remember those days! All was fair game... play by the rules, however you could use them to your advantage was acceptable. Then again, some of us got a bit more "into it" than others... ;)
