Week 3 Notes
Sorry, trying to keep these up to date as possible:
The Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects have tied their best start at 2-1, done previously in 2001, 2003-05, and 2007. The Insects passed the Jersey Toxic Waste and moved into a tie with the Urza's Ragers with a .475 winning percentage, 7th best among franchises with at least 50 games in the league. They also moved into a tie with the Ragers with 48 career wins, 4th best all time. The Urza's Ragers have started the season 1-2 for the 5th time in team history, and for the 4th year in a row. Plaxico Burress passed Rod Smith to become the Ragers' 2nd all time leading receiver in team history. Plax has 515.6 points in 38 games for the Ragers for a 13.6 average. Smith had 515.05 points in 39 games for the Ragers for a 13.2 average. The Philadelphia Freedom have started the season 3-0 for the first time ever. The Freedom have won 7 straight regular season games dating back to last season, tying a team record. Their 154.85 points was the 3rd highest score in team history. Reggie Bush's 35.8 points was the 6th highest RB score in team history, and highest since Curtis Martin scored 37.4 points in week 2 of the 2004 season. Baltimore's 22 points was the 4th highest D score in team history. The Royal Hawaiian Opihi's 89 points was the 5th lowest score in team history. The Liquid Swords started the season 0-3 for the first time ever. The Swords extended their personal best losing streak to 4 games dating back to last season. The Valencia Attack started the season 2-1 for the second straight year. Their 96.05 points was the 3rd lowest score in team history. Tony Gonzalez' 5.5 points was the 9th highest TE score in team history. Nick Folk's 9.9 points was the 7th highest K score in team history. The Wonder Mutts' Hines Ward became the 6th WR in Frenzy history to score 1000 career points, joining Terrell Owens, Torry Holt, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison, and Chad Ocho Cinco. Ward has 1000.00 career points in 71 games for a 14.1 ppg average. Brett Farve of the Valley Avengers passed Daunte Culpepper to move into 3rd place all time among Frenzy QBs, behind only Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb. Favre has 1450.6 points in 67 games for a 21.7 ppg average. Culpepper had 1426 points in 59 games for a 24.2 career average. The St. Paul Popes have started the season 1-2 for the second straight year. Their 94.85 points was the 6th lowest score in team history. Carson Palmer's 26 points was the 5th highest QB score in team history. Ryan Longwell's 8.2 points was the 8th highest K score in team history. Tampa's 13 points tied the 6th highest D score in team history. Tampa Bay passed Pittsburgh to move into 3rd place all time among Ds in Frenzy history, behind Philadelphia and Baltimore. The Popes, with their 6th career victory, move into a tie with the Pennsylvania Pyrannas, Indy Dragons, and Detroit Wyverns for 18th place in league history. The Nittany Dodgers' 151.1 points was the 7th highest score in team history. TJ Houshmandzadeh's 26.6 points tied the 6th highest WR score in team history. The Amish Rake Fighters started the season 2-1 for the first time ever. Their 106.9 points was the 10th highest score in team history. Drew Brees' 31.6 points was the 6th highest QB score in team history. Brees passed Marc Bulger to move into 6th place all time among Frenzy QBs. Brees has 1067.25 points in 43 games for a 24.8 career average. Stephen Gostkowski's 9.1 points was the 10th highest K score in team history. Minnesota's 20 points on D was the highest D score in team history, surpassing the previous team record of 17 set by Denver, twice, in weeks 7 and 9 of the 2006 season. The Rake Fighters won their 10th career game, moving into a tie with the Rabid Garbage Dogs for 13th place all time in league history. |
