Attack trade McNabb to Ragers

The Ragers acquire QB Donovan McNabb for their 3.5 pick in the 2008 rookie draft.

I'm assuming Ragers has cap/roster space to accomodate Donovan. Rich can verify that when he confirms.

This is still 2007, so I don't see cap space for Donovan. I'm showing less than 200 cbs available for you Rich. Was there a big cut I missed?

If not, and if this trade was made assuming 2008 numbers, this trade would be voided and you'd have to re-execute tomorrow.

Rich if what Brian states is the case, we can just make this deal effective at midnight, which is when 2008 starts. The cap isn't an issue for me to carry him till then.

Re: Attack trade McNabb to Ragers

FWIW, this is one of those rare cases where the old trade system would have worked. The 24 hour grace period would have given Rich room and this trade could have proceeded immediately.

In this case, holding off till midnight doesn't matter, but if for some reason I had needed to make a move for cap to accomodate say another incoming player, the new rule hurts that.

All that said, the new rule is likely better due to the problems of the past where 1 team miscalculates their cap and srews up an entire deal.

Dang, I might have been willing to give up more than this for McNabb. I did not know he was on the block. Oh, well...

I posted it a couple days ago... he goes to a division rival too LOL

Sorry Matt. Ideally I was hoping to upgrade my 3rd for a 2nd.

Even though this deal is technically null and void at the moment, I can't screw Rich. It's still his for the taking assuming he wants to consumate it at midnight.

Understood. I apologize I just found out this morning that you are back (welcome by the way) as I had a busy weekend.
