Nancies and Mutts Reach Deal
 

Mutts send Vernand Morency to Nancies for their regular 2008 2nd round pick. The pick will become their regular 1st round pick if Morency reaches 1200 yards rushing and 6 total TDs during the 07-08 season.

Interesting deal, but probably not a bad wont for Steve. It's insurance for his Brandon Jackson pick. Now you just have to hope it's not RBBC, and that one or the other emerges as the clearcut winner.

Overall I like this deal for both sides... maybe a bit steep for Steve, but tolerable.

To be honest it wasn't me that came up with the escalator concept. The two questions I asked myself were

1. Would I pay a 1st round pick for a 1200yd/6TD RB? I think most people would
2. If my RB2 has 1200/6, is it likely that I am giving up a very high pick? I think in those crcumstances I am unlikely to be giving up a sure thing pick in the top 3-4.

Given those factors I think its not a bad deal. From the other side Mutts gets a god pick for somebody who is unlikely to see his active roster. Very win/win deal.
