Predators & Dodgers agree to BLOCKBUSTER Trade!

The Parkwood Predators are shaking up their team, sending away the clubs current 2 starting RB's and their #1 WR.

Going to the Dodgers are young RB's Tatum Bell (3rd overall in 2004) and Carnell "Cadillac" Williams (1st overall in 2005), as well as stud WR TJ "Championship" Houshmanzadeh. WOW!

Heading to the Predators is young RB Frank Gore (9th overall in 2005), aging vet WR Isaac Bruce, and the Dodgers 1st round pick in 2007.

Like I said, it's a BLOCKBUSTER deal. Discuss!

Wow... this is a blockbuster deal! I see it as a win/win for both parties. Gore's having a great year - as long as he remembers to hold onto the ball. Caddy's been a bit off, and Tatum's working for Skelator, so there's that bit of uncertainty. And while I'm still not sold on Tatum Bell (it could be because I'm a Mike Bell owner!), I think Caddy will rebound - if not this year, then next. The 2007 first round pick evens things out, as TJ is about as solid a WR as they come.

AND... Mike gets to activate Shaun Alexander! WOW.

I think it's a win/win for both of us too, at least I hope so. It certainly should be a deal that positively impacts us both as we try to make a run at the playoffs and our divisions.

And despite trading away my 2 starting RB's (and only RB's on my active roster), I suddenly find myself with more RB depth with Gore, the reactivated Alexander, and the ability to promote promising rookie Maurice Jones-Drew. I'm REALLY gonna miss Housh though, I love that kid. Awesome WR. Hopefully Bruce still has a bit of gas left in the tank for 1 more run at a title.

BTW, I want to thank Brian for the candid, fun discussion/debates we had via PM the past 2 days. We traded over 50 PM's :yikes in crafting this deal as well as discussing A-Train, Flex lineups, a lottery drawing for the top pick, and other related topics.

Ya kinda got my juices flowing again Brian, in a good way. :clap

PS, I still advocate we allow a single RB set with a WR or TE allowed to play in place of a RB to give teams more ability to ride out injures and byes. ;)

I wholeheartedly agree here. I can't see why the "run and shoot" should not be a viable option. Maybe we can discuss this during the offseason and vote on it (might as well consider it for the SAC'd as well).

I traded not quite as many with Frank trying to work out a deal as well, so between the two of you I had to do some serious cleaning of my PM inbox.

It was a lot of fun to have some meat and potatoes FF talk that didn't revolve around assessing penalties.

Speaking of which, I have some moves to look at...

haha Yah it was good getting so trade discussion but with my limited capspace and years I couldn't get something together.

I agree with 1RB and 3WR why didnt we do this before and I want it for SACD too!

We allow Run-n-shoot in my dynasty league... and although it's not used all the time, it's extremely helpful for many of us. I'd vote for it!

I've advocated a single RB set in the past, but it was voted down. Looks like there is a bit more support now, something to at least discuss in the offseason.
