Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
Jake,
Why would you open Rudi at the tender level? Of course he'll be matched there. You know better than to open RFA's too low. What's the strategy here, you looking to flood the market with bids? |

Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
What do you mean I know better? Seems to me that if the bid is so low that its guaranteed to be matched, it follows that the bid is also guaranteed to be bumped up by another owner. Nothing wrong with encouraging participation - especially the way things are starting here. I've never seen a RFA period start this slow in the Frenzy. I'm interested to see if the long list of other player retention rules we have on the books are going to stifle the RFA interest. That just might end up being the case.

The other days are travel days and a day or 2 at my bosses place on the Gulf near St. Pete. We did Disney last Februaty (2005) as well, this is a more relaxed trip to Disney (water parks, and not such a rush to see eveything siunce we've seen most of it). My next big trip is Hawaii in April 2007... 16 days including a 7 night cruise through the islands. That trip should be a blast. |

Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
I thought the consensus was that RB prices were going to fall? So much for that theory.
|
Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
Yes, the 6-man game of musical-stud-RBs is getting expensive.

1 year is not a trend.
I would hate to make a correction for something that is not broken. |
Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
True, I'm not saying we change for next year, but if next year is a repeat, then I would advocate adjusting the numbers.

Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
Man, after jacking all the RFA amounts up I was hoping to avoid all these compensatory picks. I really think we ought to consider some fee for the team that gets the player (ie you sign a first round tender guy and it costs you a third round pick). I am not saying an eye for an eye but otherwise we end up with like an extra rounds worth of compensatory picks.
This is not a huge issue for third or fourth round compensatory picks but the first rounders kill the value of second round picks. I think this is something that we should consider adding for next offseason. |

If the RB tender was 4000 for a 1st I never woulda tendered a 1st for McGahee, though as it was I felt I was really gambling at 3200. I'd also be in favor of eliminating a 1st round tender level for all IDP's, Ray Lewis, as good as he once was, doesn't warrant a 1st round comp IMO. Lets just fix some of the 1st round tenders, specifiacally RB by making it an extremely difficult decision to tender a 1st, unless you've got a LT or Alexander type. |
Re: 2006 SACD RFA Commentary
Grrr, agreeing with Mike hurts.
