Rookie Draft
Let the fun begin...
E-mail Addy Summary Rami - spains@compmgt.com Dodgers - briangiel@hotmail.com paulsonpatch - burtpaulson2002@yahoo.com randi - mike_page_bisys@yahoo.com Preds - BUFFALO PITBULLS - Preds1@gmail.com Freedom - matthew.marshall@drexel.edu Keepers - jackb@sympatico.ca Skippy - noah@ffforecaster.com Swords - pmullins@tisbook.com Insects - xxjabronixx@hotmail.com Valencia - wineluvr22@aol.com Mutts - jda@accessbraille.com still need to hear from the Mutts FYI... I will enter the email addy's into the randomizer in the exact same order as listed above. This is the site I will be using: http://www.profantasysports.com/DraftRandomizer.htm - Preds |
Re: Rookie Draft
BTW, if Preds doesn't have your e-mail, can you get it to him, so he can do the random draft!

Also, adjusted the poll. Forgot his way. No way was I going to type that whole thing in there.... |
Re: Rookie Draft

Re: Rookie Draft
So is the draft order based on the random drawing, or does the random drawing determine who gets to select their spot first?
burtpaulson2002@yahoo.com |
Re: Rookie Draft
from my understanding the random drawing is to allow that owner where they want to draw. The first person drawn may not see the value of #1 pick (the fool) and choose to go elsewhere....

BTW, the first couple picks are no-brainers, it's the mid-picks where things could start changing and be advatageous to take a lower pick. It all depends on which method we choose. So stating that, we should wait on making the random drawing until this vote is finalized, which from the looks of the first 3 votes, may take a few tries (don't say it Preds.....) |

EDIT: you might not be able to make it out, but there are underscores between each word. |
Re: Rookie Draft
matthew.marshall@drexel.edu
I honestly don't care but after all the time I am going with my convulted draft order. |
Re: Rookie Draft
Why do we have 6 email addy's but only 5 votes. Who has skipped their vote? (don't make me check out the Admin Panel dang you!)
|
Re: Rookie Draft
I voted. So far it is 0-1-2-2. The cluster is on!
|
Re: Rookie Draft
there are six votes, but actually I hadn't voted yet. Being the one who set the poll, I didn't want to vote immediately.
|
Re: Rookie Draft
If this ends in a draw can we kill the rookie draft concept and just throw them into the vet auction? ;)
|
Re: Rookie Draft
jackb@sympatico.ca
I have voted 1-12 and then 12-1 every round after. I am also fine with Matt's solution (thinking it over don't know that we have to go such extremes as Matt's since the declining $$ for each successive pick will also have a bit of an evening effect). |

Re: Rookie Draft
Matt's:
After looking at Brian’s post I updated the Excel sheet to show the right values. In this case the average per team is 4313 and here are the individual values (assuming Team 1 has pick 1.1 and Team 12 has pick 1.12) which are shockingly well distributed around that average: Team 1: 4370 Team 2: 4250 Team 3: 4346 Team 4: 4255 Team 5: 4210 Team 6: 4295 Team 7: 4320 Team 8: 4340 Team 9: 4310 Team 10: 4332 Team 11: 4350 Team 12: 4380 Using the chart (for what it is worth to even each teams value) here is each teams picks: Team 1: 4370 1.01-3000 5.03-380 6.03-265 6.04-260 6.07-245 6.12-220 Team 2: 4250 1.02-2600 3.06-600 5.11-300 6.02-270 6.05-255 6.11-225 Team 3 :4346 1.03-2200 2.10-780 3.10-550 5.10-310 6.01-276 6.10-230 Team 4: 4255 1.04-1800 2.09-800 3.03-660 4.09-440 5.09-320 6.09-235 Team 5: 4210 1.05-1700 2.08-850 3.04-640 4.08-450 5.08-330 6.08-240 Team 6: 4295 1.06-1600 2.07-875 3.07-590 4.07-460 4.10-430 5.07-340 Team 7: 4320 1.07-1500 2.06-900 2.11-740 3.08-580 5.06-350 6.06-250 Team 8: 4340 1.08-1400 2.05-950 3.05-620 3.12-530 4.05-480 5.05-360 Team 9: 4310 1.09-1350 2.04-1000 3.09-560 3.11-540 4.04-490 5.04-370 Team 10: 4332 1.10-1300 2.03-1050 2.12-720 4.03-500 4.06-470 5.12-292 Team 11: 4350 1.11-1250 2.02-1100 3.02-680 4.02-510 4.11-420 5.02-390 Team 12: 4380 1.12-1200 2.01-1150 3.01-700 4.01-520 4.12-410 5.01-400 |

Re: Rookie Draft
standard serpentine won the coin toss. it really doesn't matter to me as i'm still opposed to the whole idea anyway....but at least the serpentine vote isn't so lonely any more...it's kinda like voting for ross perot, jesse jackson or reggie jackson for president

BTW, those multi-sided dice (die) were great for creating sports game before the advent of Nintendo and Sega. And yes we used to keep track of the stats and trade players and all kinds of stuff. |

If no majority win (which it is doubtful), then I will eliminate the lowest one (or two if there is a tie) and we'll vote on yet ANOTHER thread.... |

Currently the vote is 1-4-2-2.
It took me on 9 tries with my four 4-sided die to roll a one, four and two two's in order. |
