CJ4yds

greatest name ever!
@Preds

Re: CJ4yds

LOL

I have to admit I stole the CJ4 tagline from someone on FBG's that posted it Sunday evening. It fit after this weekend.

Start making plans to make room for CJ4yds because you've exceeded my max to rebuy him! Can't wait to see you cut one of your stud WR's, or guy elsewhere on your roster to make room. ;)

Re: CJ4yds

I never make a bid unless I have a plan for how to make it happen.
And it wouldn't be a FRENZY season without me blowing up my team at least once, right?

I thought Pastors weren't supposed to lie? You have a plan for EVERY single player put into bid? Cuz you bump EVERY single player put into bid...Come on man....:stirspot:

Re: CJ4yds

I never bid on a player I wouldn't take.
Now... do I always hope to win the bids? OF COURSE NOT!
But I recognize I could get "stuck" with someone... so I make sure I'd be able to stomach it.
(And that's the truth!)

Re: CJ4yds

OK, will have to watch more closely, because you seem to bid on every single player put out there, until the bid gets to a certain point....and I am sure you do not want every player bid on....

But I supposed I have gotten a few slipped by you at 100cb ;-)

It's still going to be interesting to see who you cut to fit in the Stunted Titan...

Royal Hawaiian Opihi September 13th, 2012 04:43 PM

Re: CJ4yds

I'm talking UFAs... not RFAs... those I bid up just for the heck of it all the time. ;)

I predict Steve Smith and another minor player will get the axe.

Anything else would likely mean a complete gutting of his roster depth, though I suppose he could cut Sproles, Ingram and a 3rd player to make room, but he'll be taking some massive cap hits to do so (Sproles & Ingram have cap hits of 766 between them).

Burt the Butcher September 13th, 2012 05:06 PM

Re: CJ4yds

HE could cut Ingram, Bobby would claim him back, thus getting a draft pick for free!! Classic....

Re: CJ4yds

And Burners comes out of nowhere to let the Opihi off the hook!

C'mon Jim, lets see you take him one more bid!

Preds September 13th, 2012 11:21 PM

Re: CJ4yds

I suppose we can now speculate who Burners will cut to make room.

Top Candidates

Matt Forte 2000/1 (probable)
Roddy White 2100/2 (IR stash maybe?)
Aaron Rodgers 1676/1 (doubt it)

or cut about 4 players to make room

This is why I love it when big name players get cut in-season, as they often lead to a variety of subsequent shakeups!

Re: CJ4yds

I'm guessing his bid came around the time he saw the replay of Matt Forte's ankle getting bent in a direction it's not intended to be bent.

Re: CJ4yds

I didn't watch the game pr see that. That sure helps explain it. That sucks though.

Re: CJ4yds

:woowoo:

And we're back to contemplating what moves Jim might make.

Will Burners re-up the bid with the Forte injury?

Re: CJ4yds

Rules Guys: Mike mentioned for me to free up cb's to afford Chris Johnson I would have to cut MForte, ARogers or RWhite...if the auction ended today (which it won't thanks to multiple counters today) could I have cut either Forte or Rogers since I received their points from Thurs game? If I had won I would have had 24 hours to fit him in. If the answer is yes then it was possible to have a wk2 starting backfield of MForte and CJohnson and that just doesn't seem right to me.
I bring this up because as Mike pointed out Thurs games are the norm now as opposed to the exception they used to be and this may come up again (though admittedly unlikely).

Re: CJ4yds

Whatever we decide as a league I bet MFL has some kind of safeguards in place to prevent this obvious manipulation of the "spirit of the rules" to prevent this loophole seeking scoundral from gaining an unfair advantage in this fine game!
OK - I'm off to work. I'll check back in early Sat am.

Burt the Butcher September 14th, 2012 11:59 AM

Re: CJ4yds

I do not see why you could not cut either one...their score is locked in, so its not like you can get double the points...but I can see some conflicts, if you did not cut one, you could not put him on your roster and so starting him would mean you had extra cap for one weeks contest...hmmmm...interesting....

Jim/Mike? thoughts?

Once you start a player (and that game kicks off) he's locked on your roster until the start of the next week.

I never looked to see that you started him, I was just commenting from a roster perspective.

Who will Shep cut if his 1700 bid holds up? If he cuts 1 year players he needs about 1550 in cuts. Felix Jones gets him about half way there.

He has 417 in open cap.

I could see Beanie and Felix being cut to make room for CJ4yds. That would almost get him there though he'll still need to cut a low end guy to open up a full 1700.

Maybe Blount as well?

I think this is an interesting question (re: Thursday players). I don't think the rules cover it. I'm open to the wisdom of the league on this one.

If they're started, once the game kicks off they're locked onto the roster until the completion of the week. No different than say starting a player on Sunday, who you might want to cut Sunday night or Monday, but can't until after the Monday night game is complete and the final scores are recorded.

That makes sense and seems fair to all...

We all had our laughs with the CJ4yds stuff. That's all over now that he had 17 yards and averaged over 2 YPC.

Yeah, his 5.8 points week 2 was inspiring.

Burt the Butcher September 17th, 2012 03:13 PM

Re: CJ4yds

and blaming everyone else is really the sign of turning things around!!

"Chris Johnson expressed more frustration than usual following the Titans' Week 2 loss to the Chargers.
After an 8/17/0 line on Sunday, Johnson has 19 carries for 21 yards on the season. And since Week 1 of 2011, he's averaging a brutal 3.80 yards per carry. "People need to step up and do their job," Johnson said. "They don't need to let people beat them. It don't matter who the opposing defense is, you can't let your guy beat you." Selling low isn't a great idea, but atrocious offensive line play combined with hesitant running from Johnson is crippling fantasy teams. In Week 3, the Titans host a Lions team that is giving up 4.2 yards per carry through two weeks."

Bounty Hunter September 17th, 2012 03:43 PM

Re: CJ4yds

I got CJ4/17 in SCAD and I would kill for him to average 3.8 YPC. With a just a little better effort than last year I might be competitive. 15 points a game would be sweet.

It's getting to the "should have just put a claim on him when he was first cut" range of the bidding...

Maybe I should have tried trading him first, but CUTTING him felt SOOOO good!

Last week, I "bought low" on CJ in a different dynasty league but I have the feeling I didn't buy low enough.

Re: CJ4yds

Did CJ almost look like an NFL RB last night? I started him in SACD and 20 points feels like I hit the jackpot.
