Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated with Rookie Bonuses applied.
Insect and Burners are now over the roster salary cap and must make appropriate moves to get back into compliance. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Thank you Pat!
As for the Burners & Insects... we currently have no rule on when you have to be in compliance from the rookie bonus additions. I'd suggest a week of time, which will allow you to talk trades with teams before you have to simply cut players. But that would just be voluntary since we have no official rule. Think that'll work with your schedule? |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Can I demote Matt Forte to the Taxi Squad? I currently have 4 players there with 16 years in contracts...MForte has a 3 year contract so total Taxi would be 5 members, 19 years and he is going into his 3rd year so I think he meets all of the taxi squad criteria. His current salary is 1315 CB so I would then be under the Active Cap of 10,500 CB.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
John... yes, you can demote Forte. However, he'd have to be assessed a 25cb contract bonus PER WEEK HE'S BEEN ACTIVE. So we'd have to do some research as to how many consecutive weeks he has been on the active roster (not necessarily starting, just on the active squad)... and multiply that number by 25cbs... then add it to his salary... and THEN demote him to the Taxi Squad.
Is that what you want to pursue? |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Forte was first activated in Week 5 of the 2008 season. With 16 weeks in a season (correct?), that would be 28 weeks at 25cbs per week for a total of 700cbs.
Jim, I think 7 days would be a reasonable amount of time. Also, what about giving them the opportunity to reduce RFA declarations (i.e., from a 1st to a 2nd/3rd rounder)? This could help the Burners out, but the Insects would need to pursue other alternatives. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Renegotiating RFA tenders would be fine with me too. It's all in the "spirit of the law," so to speak.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
A couple of questions...if I cut a player where does that cost go? I soft cappd SHolmes, does his 110 CB 2010 part of the cost make me even more over the cap? If I cut DAvery saving his 218 salary where does the 94 cost go?
If I moved any of my active roster to Taxi DAvery would be the guy. He has only been on the active roster since 2009 start so he would cost me 400 or so... IF I can change RFA tenders I will reduce CBenson from a 2nd(1600) to a 3rd(800) I will reduce MColston from a 1st(1800) to a 2nd(1200) and I will leave SJackson at a 1st (2400). |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
So when does my time end?
Damn this is really crazy. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
If Flaxwless really ends up having to cut players, what is the waiver order for claiming them?
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App

There will be a SOFT CAP period that runs from November 1 through March 31 each season. Players released during the SOFT CAP period will have their cap penalty divided equally between the current season and the next season. (so your soft cap cuts were split - half was applied to 2009 salary cap, half to 2010 salary cap) A HARD CAP period will ensue from April 1 each season (the beginning of the next season and new contracts) through October 31 each year. Teams will be assessed a cap penalty as described above for players released during this timespan. (So the entire penalty will be applied to 2010 salary cap) Also, once you activate a player, his salary becomes guaranteed, so just keep that in mind, if you decide to move a player back down, and cut him later, you will still be assessed cut penalties for this player. |

Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
The rulebook under the Waiver Wire heading says there is a waiver wire priority list. There is a sticky in Frenzy Free Agency and Waiver Wire Forum that has an order that is different from the rookie draft order. It was revised last November so unless there was a vote overturning it's use that I missed then I think we have to use that list for waiver wire order.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Sorry John - I was thinking with my SAC'd cap on..we did change the rule there...Waiver wire order is only changed when someone makes a claim, so that sticky order is correct as far as I know...Nittany Dodgers no longer works here, so no idea who is handling that now...
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
I'll keep track of the WAIVER WIRE ORDER as commissioner. It is not based on the draft order. It was set when the league began... and has changed as clubs have made a waiver claim.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Roster app has been updated. Please double check your team.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
matches what i have, looks good
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
My RFA tenders on new 2010 App for CBenson and MColston are overstated...CBenson should be 800 not 1600 and MColston should be 1200 not 1800 for total of 2000, not 3400 listed. Bottom line is that I have an additional 1400 CB to use to match or bid.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Pat... looks like you've got the LLAMAS' Frank Gore listed a bit too high as an RFA... he hasn't been bid on yet, so it should be still at 2400.
Otherwise, GREAT JOB! Thanks for keeping this up to date. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
updated
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Roster app updated. Please double check your rosters.
Next update will include file optimizations to reduce the file size like I did with SAC'D. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Roster app has been updated!
Please double check your team with the website and notify me of any discrepancies. Cheers! |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
And now in living color! You do nice work! Thanks.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Hey Pat any way you can work your magic on the Frenzy app like you did with the SACD app? The Frenzy app is SLOOOOOOOW!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Patrick,
Burners roster.app looks good!!! Thank you. I did notice Opihi is missing rookie 3.14 pick Armanti Edwards Car WR 100. I only noticed that after I searched for him after Steve Smith broke his arm... |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Good point! Please put Mr. App State back on my roster! Woo-hoo!!!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Armanti added to Opihi (will be there on next upload).
Frank, I did work my magic on the Frenzy app. It is a little bigger than SAC'D but only by about 200KB which should be negligible in speed. Anyone else having problems with it being slow? This release is about 1.19MB...the prior release was approaching 10MB. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Works well for me. Plenty quick. Maybe Frank is hoping when you streamline it again he will lose some of his salary cap $$$'s...I can say that this version didn't trim any of mine, I'm still choking on the cap!!!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
It downloads fine for me too....
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Great work!
A couple modifications for Bayern Reds: Soft cap: Isaac Bruce (220/1) should be added Hard cap: Jamarcus Russell was taxi squad, so no cap hit. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated through sale of Hartley (putting Scorpions over cap) and Palmer (putting Swords over cap and then back under with cut).
Have a great weekend all! |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Sorry Patrick...I rechecked the APP vs MFL..
APP has Wes Welker listed twice at 750cb and is missing Steve Slaton at 460cb..make those changes and it matches up with MFL |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Adjustments made to app for Chunks (Slaton) and Reds (Bruce and Russell)...will be included on Sunday's upload.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated through this morning, including claimed player adjustments (10% back instead of 20%).
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated!
I need to look into why this file keeps growing in size unlike the SAC'D roster app... |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated and streamlined for a smaller file size
 Again, please compare the app and website for your team! |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
You rock! Thanks.

Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Calculation Update for the roster app:
When calculating Active Cap Contract (cell K2), I believe we should capture half of the salary of IR (cell J47). The calculation missed by one cell and is pulling J48. This appears on each page. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Roster App updated through Labor Day.
Please check your roster with the website to make sure there are no discrepancies. Also, I show Insects are over the Active Roster Cap Years and thus needs to be penalized (see new thread). Commish? |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Great Job!!! My page looks correct but the info page isn't...the green section should be Burners,Llamas,Scorpions and Chunks in that order for open cap (Burners 83) and open years (Burners 6). Currently listed Scorpions, Burners, Llamas and Chunks.
Minor prob, easy fix, Again - Great Job!!! |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Esteemed fellas - is the masterful roster app up-to-date? I was just about to place a bid to extend our frenzy for the services of the fine young 185-pound gentleman Kareem Huggins, but realized perhaps I would be better served if I let my division rival Swords win that one!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated.
Please note that updates to previous invalid IR calculation settings on roster app, now show two teams (Derby Cars and Insects) to be in violation. |
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated to start of soft cap period
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Can someone show me how to add a few more lines to my SOFT CAP section on the roster app? I've already passed the number of open spaces I have... and I'm sure I'll have many more cuts before the season is out.
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Jim,
I know how to insert rows but I'm not sure the formulas follow...I'll try with mine and let you know. Cliff notes version is put cursor on row number on left, right click and from drop down menu select "insert" and you have a new row. Formula seems to refer back to entry above on active roster...especially years assigned (determines full penalty to assign half to 2010 and half to 2011). If formula doesn't follow (and it might) then formula has to be inserted manually. It would be alot easier if you didn't make any more cuts!!! Good Luck! |

Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Formulas should adjust appropriately by following John's Cliff notes. However, I just dropped my wife off at the airport (she's going to Boulder, CO for a Beer Bloggers Conference) and I have a few hours to kill at Starbucks before work (although Dunkin Donuts across the street is sounding tasty) so I'll update the roster app and give you plenty of soft cap lines to work with. Cheers!
|
Re: 2010 Frenzy Roster App
Updated!
Jim, you should now have plenty of Soft Cap space to work with on the app! |
