Frenzy Replacement
 

Hey all. I'm not sure who is aware, and who is not, but Joe is not able to continue due I believe to time contraints. For his replacement, I've recruited my friend who I've tried to get into the Frenzy and SAC'D in years past. This is bittersweet, as while it is sweet that we are finally in a league together, after forming our local league back in '90 but not playing together for the last few years. The bitter part is that now I won't be able to give Cheezy a hard time about winning the coin toss for the last open spot in SAC'D last year. I'll learn to cope with that.

Anyway, my friend Jason will be signing up for the board in the near future, and vote in the rules polls for this season, as well as introducing himself. He was supposed to do this earlier this week, but I guess the fire I tried to light under him didn't get hot enough (he's very busy with his final semester in law school so I will be running most of his show through the RFA period most likely). After that, by the time the rookie draft starts most likely, we'll have another competent and competive owner in the Frenzy!

I'll miss Joe, but I've talked with him and know he just can't commit the time.

Joe's a great guy, and I hope he sticks around and visits us!

As for Jason, as you know, he got this spot over my buddy Brett as he was #1 on the waiting list... Brett now moves up to #1 on the list for Frenzy.

Welcome to the league Jason! Beat Brian twice a year for me, especially since he's the 1 nemesis I don't do well againstin the regular season (post season is another story right Bri? ;))!

Sadly, the years have caught up to me. After a great start, I haven't beat you for a few years. It's even worse since I've scrapped the "franchise" records, and removed the Rabid Garbage Dogs records from the Nittany Dodger books. We are sadly 2-3 against your Preds in the regular season. The mantle of Preds arch nemesis has been passed to the Wonder Mutts, and their 4-2 record against you in the regular season. His understudy, the Amish Rake Fighters won your first meeting last season, and they sadly are the only two teams you have a losing record against.

I was bummed when I chatted with him a week or so ago, but I suspected it was coming. His activity last year was an all time low, and his team really suffered because of it.

If he finds more time in future seasons I'd love to have him rejoin the league, as I really enjoyed him as a league mate. Hell. I enjoy EVERY owner in the Frenzy. It's a special league with great great guys.

Huh, I guess I should have actually looked through the other threads before I started an intro thread. Anyway, thanks for the welcome!

Oh, I plan to. No sweat. In our other league, I was something like 23-3 against him in the 13 or so years we competed.

One note on Jason, when it comes to numbers and history, he is the anti-me. He remembers what he wants to remember (like thinking he was 23-3 against me).

In reality, in the 13 years we spent together in our league, one game separated us in our head to head competition. (We won't mention how many championships separated us).

And we all know not to argue with Brian over the numbers (since he is the keeper of the numbers). Also, by adding Jason does this give me at least one person who has less wins in the Frenzy then me?? :)

Oh yeah! That's right, my winning percentage was around .500. It was either that or .900, I couldn't remember which! ;)

OK Brett is in as the VALENCIA ABSOLUT taking over Kyle's Jersey Toxic Waste squad. Welcome to the Frenzy Brett. Glad to have you!

For those wondering about Kyle, he changed careers several months ago, and his new job precludes him from being near the internet, making his only activity in the late evenings. He was supposed to vote in the polls a week or 2 ago, and hasn't found the time, thus I asked if he'd rather be replaced and he agreed it'd be for the best. Sorry to see Kyle go, he's a former league champion and been with us since year 2, but things change and we keep rolling! I'll still get to compete against Kyle in my local league, so its all good!

As for Brett, I'm excited to have you with us! Now I want you in my division so we can play twice a year!

Well, if I was like you and had the easy division last year, I might feel the same way. But, being in the winningest division in the history of the Frenzy, being in a division with the wild card last year, being in a division where my 3rd highest point total in the league wasn't good enough to make the playoffs, I have enough competition, thankyouverymuch.

Hah... taking those stats of your to the extreme eh! If I recall correctly, you have 1 regulat season win over us. Yup 1. Don't go braggin there.

Lets look at CHAMPIONSHIP FRENZY BOWL TITLES:

The East has won 3 of 6 Frenzy Bowls, yup 50% thus far baby! (Predators x2, and the reining Champion Opihi)

The Central has won 2 of 6 Frenzy Bowls (Toxic Waste and Mutts)

The West has won a grand total of 1 Frenzy Bowl, and that was a whopping 6 years ago! (Insects)

Now, go crawl back into the hole you came out of and stop fooling yourself with that winningest division crap! Win when it counts baby, when it counts!

Go EAST! We WIN when it COUNTS!

Wow, I must have hit pretty close to the mark to get you so riled up.

Hey, I can't control what other people do, I can only control what my team does. You're giving me a hard time because I'm shying away from more competition. I'm just saying my division has been historically as tough as any. We lose an owner from our division, an owner with the 2nd most career wins in Frenzy history. We replace him with my buddy who owned our local league, retired as the all time wins leader, retired with the highest percentage of seasons in the post season, retired tied for the all time lead for championships, retired as the all time wins leader, etc etc. I don't know Brett's history, but I have no problem feeling good about the level of my competition in my division with two playoff teams from last year and Jason joining the group.

And I have two wins against you in the regular season. I'm not going to even start comparing my franchise to yours. I can't compete with your championships, all time record, or anything else. However, I have fared better against you than all but one team that has played you more than twice, and I don't feel bad about that either.

Nice! I'm glad to see that I'll be able to be involved in both rivalries with my divisional opponents AND we can simultaneously band together to badmouth the other divisions.

It's nice to see my PFFL success summarized in writing :D

Your new division mates prior success means little. The Frenzy's a whole new ball game! That said, I hope he does well, reall well, as the stiffer the competition is, the better off the league is IMO. Bring it baby!

As for Brett, he's shown his credentials in SACD, a league which as you know is a derivative of the Frenzy. Brett has 2 championship appearances and 1 win in the 1st 2 years of the league.

I'm looking forward to another fun season in the Frenzy, especially after I get back from Hawaii and sneak the trophy away from Jim's house to bring it back home where it belongs!

We're all about trash talking the other divisions! Inside the division we're arch rivals, but once the playoffs come round, we fully support our division mates!

Ha. I like how a league that has been around for, at that time, 13 years, with a core of owners with 12-13 years of experience means little, but I need to bow down to Brett's dominance in a two year old IDP league started with, what, half the owners or less with IDP experience? Hypocrite much?

That said, I never discredited Brett, I simply said I didn't know his resume outside of SAC'D (not trying to drag you into this Brett).

LOL, well I wasn't discrediting his experience, as much as dismissing it. :p Point being a cap league is a completely different monster as you well know.

Anyhow, why are we arguing over our new leaguemates?

Let's just let the results speak for themselves (i.e. the East will dominate come playoff time once again)! :p

You'll find the trophy on my mantle in the family room... but it's still got the 2005 Championship plate as the most recent. So... maybe I'll ask you to take it back to the East Coast... get me my nameplate... and hand-deliver it back to the islands in the spirit due a Frenzy Champion!

(And I'm going to ignore that dig about the East being a "weak division.")
