Can't believe some of the guys that haven't been put up for bid yet, with only 10 days left in the RFA period.

Someone needs to get these guys out there to sell for market value.

I do?

After signins Wayne and with Boldin at 1753 and high bid on Wes Welker at 1750... I don't think I have any room left.

With 2400 left as of right now, you aren't letting Boldin go. So add 500 to his salary so that's 1900 left. I don't believe there is any chance Opihi is letting Welker go so I think that Avengers was just speculating that you'll have money. BUT I also think that with 390 some dollars left, Avengers forgot about the FA market and that he's going to need DEF and K (two throughout the year with byes) and another TE. That's if Ragers doesn't match Cooley and put Avengers over again. (Ace in the hole ... D Driver - Please bid asks Avengers)

I guess we'll have to wait until Welker sells then.

I haven't forgotten about FA or that I need a K and a D. A long time left before I need to worry about that - just trying to lock up the talent that I want for now. I called you out before I saw your Welker bid, Insects - well done. Now all the rest of you sitting on 2, 3, or 4 k, you know who you are, get on the bidding train.

The chess match starts. Insects... Boldin is on the 72-hour clock. I won't be making a decision on Welker until your match/decline decision on Boldin is made.

Just to make sure everyone's on the same page, since we have a flurry of active players, my understanding is that each open player will go to the highest bidder as of 11:59 EDT tomorrow night. 72 hour match/decline clocks run as normal.

I thought we eliminated ebay style end?

I could have sworn we did.

I know we elimnated Ebay style for the transition from off-season free agency to in season free agency, but I don't think we ever officially addressed the end of the RFA period. Per the thread Jason quoted, I don't think it's ever come up before, and unless someone finds a more recent thread/vote, that thread makes it clear that bidding will end at the deadline.

We've never had that problem before. Looks like this year might be the first! I think the RFA period should not be a problem with "eBay-style" bidding. It shouldn't be a problem to put up a decent offer that you think the 'owning team' might have a problem matching.

Now, in UFA periods, I see how this could get dicey... but I don't see a problem with it in the RFA time. Just my two cents...

Pretty sure we eliminated the ebay stle for the UFA period and setup up a roll over transition from off-season to in-season.

The RFA is a different animal, thus the Rules committee ruling that the hard end on the 30th was OK.
