Re: SAC'D Vet Auction Commentary

Gunslingers strategy appears to be to grab undrafted rooks for dirt cheap early on.

Still scratching my head over the Goddard bid. Then he hit me with the Babineaux one. At least Bab's was a 2nd rd pick (vs. the 6th that Goddard was), but still, he's an inside DL buried on the Falcons depth chart at the moment.

An interesting strategy Matt, I for one will let you have these stiffs. You may throw 10 out there and hit on 1, but in the meantime your Active Roster will be tied up with a bunch of bums, as none of these guys are Taxi or Practice Squad eligible (since they weren't drafted by you or another team in SAC'D).

Hey, stop trying to talk him out of it. I think it's a great strategy.

That's just wrong that McNabb is going for more than Peyton right now.

It is but that is what happens when two people like the same guy. With Cpep likely falling out of the top echelon, these two guys are the easily the top 2 so doesn't seem unreasonable.

:dammit I am getting out bid on McNabb and LT

Actually the surprising part was that Manning was going untouched. He was still a steal at that 12:01am price.

Things are back in order with Manning going for more than Donovan ... I wanted to make one last bid on McNabb but didn't think it was right that he was going for more than Manning.

I think I am out of the LT sweepstakes. Something in the range of 5000 was my threshold, wonder if I started with a price between 4500 & 5000 if everyone would have been so shocked I would have got him there.

Only start worrying if someone makes a higher bid on Alexander ... there is no way I want to get both of them at 4000 & 5000.

Looks like you might win the McNabb one. Geez. He's one of the top 3, but getting out at this point might be really nice...

This is more than I would like to spend on McNabb and I thought long and hard about bidding this high. But there are few sure things in FF, just think McNabb is one of them (LT too).

LOL I wouldn't have bid this high if didn't want him as know it is around his max price. Same for LT.

Some of you are nuts...but then again you might be geniuses. I can't wait to see what kind of prices the second round of nominations bring. I may need to make some drastic changes to my estimated spending formulae if current trends continue to progress status in quo, just to capture a big-time stud to lead the way for the Disciples of the 36 Chambers.

Actually, there was a part of me that is glad to get out of it. I was thinking you'd top out before me, but I have mixed feelings about it. Mcnabb is one of the best (and was before TO came along), he is consistently good. What ever he gets he is worth.
